choji /// one thing about me is i’m susceptible to anything that has been hyped. FINALLY got the chance to try this fig cream matcha 💚💚💚 the verdict is this was delish. def a bit pricey and don’t know if i’d be coming back here all the time but i love the unique flavors and would def bring a friend here for a fun drink and walk around the area 😇
i wasn’t getting a super strong fig flavor tbh but like solid matcha! i loved the creamier flavor and texture and super pretty to photograph 📸 i would say 80% lived up to the hype. and yes i do foresee myself coming back 😍
oncheon /// i’m yearning for that milk tea honeycomb makgeolli (rice wine) literally every day. yes it tastes just as delicious as it sounds 💯💯💯 omg literally drooling already typing this out…. but this is SUCH a tasty drink!!! the earthiness of the rice wine and oat notes cut through the sweetness of the honey and it’s just such a fantastic and refreshing drink. i loved all the different flavors in here and that is my standout item from this place and the reason why i would come back.
as for food, the kimchi seafood pancake and the cold noodles with chicken were delicious as well. these left me feeing completely full and the chicken especially was absolutely lip smacking 🔥🔥🔥 i saw everyone around us ordering the hot pot so perhaps that’s the next thing i’ll be trying when i come back 🍲
green kitchen /// spectating @m.luheda run a half marathon means post run brunch of course … and that’s exactly what we did 🙏🙏🙏
this was a highly satisfactory brunch 😋 the pistachio ricotta pancakes were my FAV❣️ the homemade whipped cream felt like borderline butter but i’m not complaining…. didn’t really get a super strong pistachio flavor but this was a delish, fluffy, creamy but still light pancake 🥞
the florentine eggs benedict (with spinach and feta) were also satisfactory 💯 solid meal and i always love a savory/sweet split for brunch.
what was so silly and whimsical for me was when they served me my cappuccino with a rock candy stick ✨ i have literally never had a cappuccino sweetened like that before but i literally loved it. hope more places adopt this method 🧚♀️
the place was a bit of a tight squeeze for a sunday brunch but overall ambience was nice and so was the bathroom 🙏 to the waiter who gave us our check and shared his dreams for one day also running a half marathon - i share the same dream as you and i believe in both of us that one day maybe we can ✊
final crumbs from my dc eats:
1. stellina pizzeria /// solid pizza 👌👌 love the wood fired crust and everything was delish

6. loud n roasted /// soooo many fun flavors 😍😍 i got the nutella latte but was tempted by so many of the other quirky flavors they had here - interesting vibe combined with a pizzeria next door but loved my latte here 🤎

lapis /// ya we ate this up… literally…. actually we were so hungry by the time the food arrived we literally spent the first 15 minutes in silence scarfing this down
the shrimp dumplings and pakora (crispy vegetables) were solid as starters. the meat for the entrees all slapped 🙏🙏🙏 the lamb shank, morgh qorma (chicken), and lamb kabob were all flavorful and tender and tasty 💯
we also started at the bar with some cocktails 🍸 which is always a great way to start your dinner ✨ overall the food was solid - good dinner place to have some comforting food. but the vibes here were what really made this place memorable for me 🤞 chic decor, welcoming service, and just warm and charming atmosphere.
code red /// don’t know if i should be posting about this not-so-secret speakeasy but literally i have to because it was such a memorable experience ❣️
the code to enter is in the name of the bar itself 😉😉😉
i was literally in love with the vibe here. it’s prohibition themed and they really commit to the theme 💯 the happy hour deal was actually so amazing - the $7 drinks were exquisitely crafted and i thought an amazing deal for $7 🙏
i loved the vintage touch of everything and this was the perf place to sit down for a bit and rest your weary legs. service was amaze we got everything we ordered and more (iykyk 🥃) and we just had so much fun here ✨ it had just the right touch of mysterious but sophisticated energy right in the nation’s capitol 🇺🇸✨ #historical #historyrepeatsitself #ilovehistory #ilovealcohol
YELLOW /// omg guys….. this place lives up to the hype fr. one of those meals where after the first bite i already knew i’d be dreaming about the food after.
the pastries were so so good we snagged the last za’atar croissant (perfect bite with creamy labne filling) and the twice baked baklawa croissant (SLAPPED SO HARD)❣️ this was paired with the peanut dalgona iced latte which was SO YUMMY and refreshing with the coconut peanut cold foam 🤤 also huge fan of the pebble ice they used in this drink 🙏 the chicken pita was also solid - very filling and packed with flavor.
if there is one thing you ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO TRY here it is the potatoes 😫😫😫😫😫😫✨✨✨ the shatta batatas 😫😫😫😫 it was an amazing spiced tater tot vibe but like so much better paired with this tahini ranch sauce omfgggg 😫😫😫 i thought it was a little on the pricey side paying $13 for a bag of potatoes but guys. so so worth it i loved these potatoes so much.
i carried a bag with me when we went museum hopping and it hit again for a mid day snack 😫😫😫 def better warm and crispy but like wow. will come back to DC for those potatoes.
la betty /// starting off my DC trip food post with a place that really does it all ‼️ cafe during the day, wine bar at night ❣️
i had a delightful breakfast here - the jasmine tea, tiramisu, and pistachio and rose donuts were all SPECTACULAR. i also always go crazy for a fun latte flavor and the ube blackberry espresso latte was phenomenal. food and drinks were amaze and the vibe was so good we just had to go back for round 2 that same day when it became a wine bar…
and for this i want to say shoutout to this man on beli for posting a pic of himself having such a fabulous time here because that is what convinced me to experience what he experienced here. i had to recreate the photo and even more, the experience.
and let me say… i had an amazing time here when it became a wine bar. the orange wine was so delish i had 2 glasses and i just loved the loungey relaxed atmosphere and i’ll say it… i loved the vibe ✨
d-jing k-kitchen /// omg this one was an unexpected hit 🙏🙏🙏 tucked away in the industry city food hall this was a quick stop for dinner turned into actually such a fantastic experience …
the tofu stew was quite comforting and i absolutely TORE UP the creamy udon noodles 🤪 literally so filling and delicious and at a reasonable price point would def come back here for a meal if i’m in the area
the rhymers club /// my story viewers saw this first but upon further reflection i think this place deserves its own post …. 📲
i never saw the appeal of a dirty martini until i tried this one…. why was it actually quite delicious 🍸 i’m not even an olive girl normally but i thoroughly enjoyed this one 🫒 paired with the house made fries….. um perfect 😍 as you can tell i loved the martini so much had to snap some pics from multiple angles…. so enjoy those pics☺️
this place has a popping happy hour deal… the martini and fries were $15 total but i also have my eyes on the $7 pizza and $11 frozen aperol spritz for next time 😏 hh is monday-friday before 7pm!!!!
the tuna crispy rice was also scrumptious 😏😏 great place to eat and chat and drink and start the night 10/10 recommend 😛
sukh /// @nusdoesnyc ‘s recs NEVER disappoint and i had extremely high expectations for this one since it’s one of her all time FAVS 😨🙏
would you believe me if i said even with my very high expectations i was STILL blown away 🌬️ this is literally the best pad thai i’ve ever had 🫢 the chicken was crispy but also succulent and every bite was heavenlyyyyyy ✨ all the textures worked together perfectly and it’s one of those meals i’m just excited to have again 😩
i took bites of the tom yum khao pad and kae mao chicken as well and they were equally delicious. the viet coffee was also STRONG if you’re into that
also the vibe was vintage train car which they somehow pull off perfectly❣️ anyways i love this place so much!!!! anyone coming to visit me in nyc i’ll be suggesting going to this place 😏
chuan tia xia /// SOMETHING’S FISHYYY IN HEREEEE and i ate up every last bite 🐟🎣😛 this is one the best chinese meals i’ve had in nyc… so flavorful and filling and fresh and yum.
we ordered the wanzhou grilled fish which was perfect for a group of 3!! it was very customizable with the type of fish, spice level, flavor, and add ons 💯 you do lowkey have to roll the sleeves up and rlly get in there tho.. eating grilled fish is not for the dainty.
the eggplant dish was also so yum 😋 perfect sweet and spicy flavor and very generous portions. super reasonable prices and just rlly so deliciousssssss ❣️although they specialize in that sichuan spice 🌶️ they have something for everyone here and i personally really appreciated the customizable spice options 😛
