Could a new NCAA rule damage the high school hockey in Minnesota?
The proposed five-in-five rule would give college athletes a five-year eligibility window starting after they turn 19 or graduate high school, whichever happens first. That would leave hockey players, who often don’t enter college until they’re 20 or 21, with limited options to make the most of their college experience.
Olivia Hicks explains the potential ramifications of the proposal. You can read her full story an dan explainer on how the rule will impact other sports on Strib Varsity.
