RAW archives from the last track session prepping for the Rock Hill World Championships exactly 1 year ago. Fun fact: this first straight finally filled in the spreadsheet with all the target numbers @strengthby91 said I needed to have a successful Worlds… it’s like he knows a thing or two😜 Only took me 20+ efforts that session (including some full laps->second slide😅), to achieve the goal and earn the bread pudding dessert that night and 2 weeks of rest that followed.💪🏼🌈🥇 #memories #fbf #flashbackfriday #workhard #resthard #bmx #racing #athlete #worldchampion

It was a fun and productive week getting started with fan favorite, Sylvain Andre. I raced against Sylvain for years and have always admired his riding and racing - a great display of skill, grit, determination, and tactical prowess. And to top it all off, he’s a character and standup guy. Coming off a year full of clutch performances amidst injury, medaling at both the World Championships and Olympic Games, I am honored to work with him through 1:1 Training and coaching in this next chapter and see if we can’t still teach an old dog some new tricks!
No matter what stage you’re at in your BMX journey, beginners to World Champions, @strengthby91 has something to offer everyone! Link in bio to find the program for for you.🔗
#flashbackfriday to some old “track efforts” in 2014. These were each done on different gear ratios and crank lengths than my race set up leading up to both SX and regular start hill races. I used the same track in much of my training, but rarely repeated an effort. In my opinion, by constantly changing the variables, you can develop the skillset and feel you need to be successful anywhere. Sign up today for your own customized training plan.

It was really cool having junior world champion, Teya Rufus, racing in her first @usabmx pro race in Tulsa this weekend. It was reminiscent for me going through the learning curve of racing these tracks and races for the first time coming from Australia. From her first impressions during practice being overwhelmed, and in her words “everything is weird”, to watching her adapt and thrive battling in the pro class. It was rewarding being part of both ends of the spectrum on the night, from Teya’s grin after the semi in the night show and reaction after the second main being “this is so much fun, I don’t even know what’s happening right now!”, to Alise chasing down her 12th professional title right next to her in the starting gate all night. Fun fact: Alise won her first pro title the year Teya was born🤯 (2006). Pretty surreal coaching moment!
“More than one way to skin a cat 🐾 Mobilize – Activate – Stimulate – Accelerate 💥
With nearly 20 years at the highest level, Alise knows the value of evolution in training. Despite injuries and surgeries, she continues to hit physical milestones at 33. 💪 Here’s a glimpse of her combined session focusing on acceleration foundations—all packed into an hour to maximize efficiency and minimize workload. 🔥
At 18, I’d had a pretty successful year winning my 2nd Jr World Title and the Overall SX World Cup title, but I spent the latter part of the year chasing the likes of idols like KB & Stumpy around ABA tracks, in awe of their ability to accelerate the bike and make speed around these tracks. After leaving the 2009 Grands, I watched this race of Kyle for 12 months straight, and set a plan to improve my own acceleration. Using my speedometer & training diary, I tracked, monitored and carried out that plan, ultimately achieving my childhood dream of winning the USA Pro title 1 year later in 2010. Moral of the story is that planning and preparation matter, and I’d love to share my decades of refining this process to help you achieve your own BMX dreams. 🔗 Link in bio to sign up.
You have approximately 500 milliseconds to apply force in your first revolution out of the starting gate. Strength is NOT power, but it is a foundation for it. Application matters. If you want to learn more, sign up on strengthby91.com and let’s make your off season great.💪
Having a plan is crucial to success, and the understanding of how to adapt that plan to an individual as situations and goals evolve, is something I’ve always prided myself on and allowed me to execute consistently “anytime, any place” as a rider myself.
Now, I am proud to be able to share that knowledge with you through my Customized Training, which offers a completely personalized experience for you, at an affordable price. So, no matter where you are in your training journey, let’s build a program around YOU, and start achieving those goals together!✅ Link in bio to sign up today. 🔗
