Tony Cameron and Jack Richardson from our team were delighted to attend the Baxall Supply Chain Event this week, especially as it was held in a building using our timber frame system, Southborough Hub in Kent. All the speakers and talks were really interesting and we came away having learned a lot about Baxall's vision for the future and how the supply chain sits within that. It was great to catch up with Baxall Managing Director, Malcolm Clarke (MD) as well as Directors Stuart Hardie, Alan Leigh, Chris Tompsett, Matthew Barker, Viv Fordham, Clive Stuart, Kevin Hardy, plus other Baxall team members and fellow subcontractors. We wish Malcolm all the best with his transition to Chairman at Baxall and congratulate Stuart in advance of him officially becoming Managing Director on 1st of June. When Maidstone Grammar School for Girls wanted to replace worn out temporary classrooms with a new purpose built facility it faced substantial logistical challenges, including a live school environment, restricted access, and the strict safety requirements of Network Rail. Main Contractor, Baxall Construction, working with Miller Bourne Architects, chose the Streif off-site timber frame system as it offered significant benefits over traditional building methods including: Compressed Programs: A weathertight shell can be erected in a fraction of the time of traditional builds, allowing follow-on trades to start sooner. Reduced Logistics: Fewer deliveries and less on-site waste. Perfect for tight footprints and for schools where minimising traffic is a safety priority. Certainty and Safety: Factory-controlled manufacturing means fewer personnel on-site and a predictable, high-quality output that meets the highest standards. Read how we did it on our website. Achieving the rigorous Passivhaus standard on-site using traditional methods of construction is notoriously challenging, often leading to performance gaps. Modern Methods of Construction (#MMC) and specifically advanced offsite timber framing, can help through the inherent Suitability of Precision-Engineered Timber and its ability to hit specific technical benchmarks for U-Values and Airtightness. Streif’s Advanced Timber Construction provides this certainty right from the design phase. Read more in our blog and discover how Streif's system can work for your next #Passivhaus project on our website. #MMC #passivhaus #timberframesolutions

For main contractors and specifiers, mapping the true sustainability of a large-scale construction project is now more critical than ever. But what if you could calculate the amount of embodied carbon before the first panel is even ordered? We are excited to introduce a new feature to our quotation process: a dedicated Embodied Carbon Reporting tool. This feature calculates detailed emissions of all materials used in the Streif system at the very beginning of your project, the quotation stage. To see this in action, we ran a report for Newlands Primary Academy in Hampshire. By integrating this data early, we’re helping our partners demonstrate clear, actionable commitment to sustainable building practices and offsite manufacturing efficiency. Contact our team today to find more about our reporting tool and learn more about the Newlands Primary project on the case study section of our website. #SustainableConstruction #EmbodiedCarbon #MMC #MainContractors #Specifiers OffsiteManufacturing TimberFrame

There has been a huge increase in the demand for #SEND and #SEMH #education facilities in the UK over the last decade. According to the Institute for Fiscal Studies, the share of pupils with an EHCP has risen from 2.7% in 2016 to 5.2% in 2025. Many councils are recognising this need and we were really pleased to be part of a project with Morgan Sindall for Freemantles School in Woking, where our system was used in a new two storey building to provide Secondary education facilities and enable SEND pupils to continue their education at the same location. Since opening in 2023, the school has helped to improve outcomes for hundreds of children by providing access to specialist facilities and teaching. As well as classrooms and a creative arts studio, there is even an FE common room to give the older pupils a bit more independence. We are hugely proud to have helped deliver this project on time and on budget and look forward to working on many more. Read how we did it in the case study on our website. #MMC #timberframesolutions offsitemanufacturing

It was a pleasure attending the @morgansindallconstruction Northern Home Counties Supply Chain Event last week at the beautiful Riding School at Hatfield House. The event provided valuable insights through presentations on Morgan Sindall’s Core Values, Perfect Delivery, Sustainability and Carbon, and Health and Safety. It was also a fantastic opportunity to connect with industry colleagues, including Emma Curtis and Daniel Trindall, and reconnect with David Brennan and Andy Hartwell. A special highlight was the presentation of 13 awards and the chance to wish Gordon Norris, Regional Supply Chain Manager, a very happy retirement. A true gentleman who will be missed! #SupplyChain #Construction #Networking #Sustainability #MorganSindall #HatfieldHouse

Our Director, Bill Treves, enjoyed attending the Constructing Excellence Sussex breakfast meeting this morning, where an informative peer-led discussion was had about the importance of early engagement and how it can positively impact projects. Thanks for the excellent presentation from Baxall Construction and Chairing by Charlotte Smith from Cityzen Design.
