🧐 Monday Blues where??? 🤔 Although it's no surprise at this point, our volunteers were AMAZING this week! We were able to put together over💰 350 BAGS 💰 with: 🥨 TONS of packaged snacks 🍊 a PLETHORA of fresh fruit 💧PEAK hydrating fluids For those in need in Downtown San Diego 💕 @sdfoodbank , in addition to providing the fruit as always, performed a routine health & safety inspection this week. We passed (and we didn't even study 😎), but more importantly, we were given great tips and pieces of knowledge from their organization to help us be EVEN BETTER in the future 💪 The standards and values which they both set and uphold allow organizations like us to be able to do good. Please give a ❤ BIG THANK YOU ❤ to the food bank for everything they do - Streets of Hope is just one of the hundreds of organizations they support! Although we do it all the time, big shoutouts to @the_chusco_meehicaaan for leading the coffee ☕and hot chocolate 🍫 charge, and @hightechhelps_ 🤖 for showing up in full force this week! Also, thank you to @ucsd_internationalprograms and @ucsdextendedstudies for continuing to join us and support our mission. 👨‍🍳 Servin' it up Streets of Hope style 👨‍🍳 This week we met and exceeded our goal of 200 care packages... and THEN some! 😎 Together with the help of @hightechhelps_ @sdsuama @medlifeucsd and of course, @sdfoodbank , we made WELL over 300 bags, with: 🍖Ham & 🧀Cheese Sandwiches, courtesy of Mission Trails Church, who donate sandwiches every 1st of the month (thank you so much!) 💧Bottled Water (we had TONS to extra to give out!) 🍊Fresh Fruit and 🥨 Packaged Dry Snacks We also had a couple of tents ⛺ we provided, which can make all the difference to someone in need. It's so easy to take something as simple as coverage from the elements for granted. As you noticed, San Diego is experiencing some classic ☔ Moody May weather ☔. Next Monday would be a PERFECT time to bring some jackets you're no longer wearing to hand out to our friends on the streets here in Downtown San Diego. Shaking off the Sunday Scaries, one Monday at a time 😊 This week was an absolute BLAST. Rancho Bernardo church came in clutch, as they always do the last Monday of the month, with 🥪200 HAM & CHEESE SANDWICHES 🥪. You already know these were paired with: 🍿granola bars, nuts, chips and other dry packaged snacks 🍊 fruit from @sdfoodbank 🍊 (literally the biggest oranges I've seen in my life) 💧bottled water This week we had SO many extra snacks, fruit and water that we were able to make over 100 extra "booster bags", which we hand people as an extra surprise alongside our normal care package 💕 The coffee & hot chocolate cart was in full gear, thanks to our mobile barista @the_chusco_meehicaaan , and we had so many wonderful individuals from all over help us out, including: @sdsuama @hightechhelps_ @phhsrc We are so grateful to everyone who comes out - Streets of Hope doesn't wouldn't be the committed community it is without you and the energy you bring. 😜 HAPPY MONDAY 😜 As per usual, another SMASH hit this week in Downtown San Diego! Thank you so much to @sandiegofreemasons , who provided 🥪 260 HAM & CHEESE SANDWICHES!!! 🥪 As you could expect, we paired these with: 🍿 Multiple packaged dry snacks 🍎 Fresh fruit from @sdfoodbank and 💧 Bottled water Possibly our greatest virtue, we'd like to think, is our consistency. While we may not post about it every week (oops 😬), rest assured, we'll be there on the streets. ☕ Hot Chocolate & Hot Coffee ☕to warm the spirits of Downtown, served with a smile of course 😁 This week, we put together and distributed about 250 care packages — each one filled to the BRIM with snacks, water and fresh oranges! We are so proud of the volunteers who consistently show up to support our mission every single week. @the_chusco_meehicaaan who has become barista of the year, @hightechhelps_ who MUST be the most reliable high schoolers on the planet, and too many more to name on a single post! And of course, thank you for everyone who donates clothes to us. Seriously. We cannot express how far they go. It is hard to describe the gratitude we see when we had a cold individual a hot coffee and a sweater. ❤️ Another Monday night in the books!!❤️ This week, we put together and distributed 300 care packages — each one filled with bottled water 💧, fresh fruit 🍎, and packaged snacks to keep people going. The coffee cart keeps getting better and better ☕… This week we added hot chocolate 🍫🔥 This was a direct response to what people out on the street have been asking for. That’s what it’s all about: listening and showing up. As always, big thank you to @the_chusco_meehicaaan Edgar leading the coffee-cart charge! For the 4th week in a row, the coffee cart came through strong, and it’s quickly becoming a permanent part of Monday nights 🙌 We also gave out clothing and essentials 🧥 to help people stay warm and supported. Another Monday, another night of showing up ❤️ This week we put together 270 care packages — each one packed with ham & cheese sandwiches, fresh fruit, snacks, bottled water… and an extra cookie 🍪 courtesy of Tony from Knights of Columbus Church of Mother Confidence 🙌 We were also joined by some amazing groups: 🩺 @pmacsdsu (SDSU Premedical Advising Club) 🐢 San Diego Street Turtles 🔬 @hightechhelps_ (as per usual 😎) Together, we kept things moving and made sure as many people as possible were taken care of. On top of food, we gave out clothing essentials, and were able to provide 4 tents ⛺ for people needing shelter. One of our longtime friends, Shadow, also received a proper sleeping mattress — something small that can make a huge difference. And for the third week in a row, Edgar @the_chusco_meehicaaan held it down with the coffee cart ☕ out by the Downtown Library — keeping everyone warm and in good spirits. 🌍❤️ A special Monday night with friends from around the world. This week, 20 visiting students from Qatar joined us on the streets of Downtown San Diego to serve alongside our regular volunteers. Seeing people travel across the globe and jump straight into serving the community is something we’ll never take for granted. 🙌 Together we prepared and distributed about 210 care packages, each including: 🥪 Sandwiches generously provided by Saint Marc’s Church (who donates every 2nd Monday of the month!) 🍎 Fresh fruit 🥨 Snacks 💧 Two bottles of water In addition to the care packages, we were also able to provide: 🧥 Jackets 🛏️ Blankets 🛌 Sleeping bags ⛺ Even a tent for someone who needed shelter And of course, the roaming coffee cart was fully operational ☕ — bringing warm drinks and warm conversation to the streets. Huge thanks to Edgar, @the_chusco_meehicaaan for helping keep the coffee flowing and spirits high all night long! Every Monday we’re reminded that kindness has no borders. ☕✨ NEW ADDITION ALERT: The Streets of Hope Roaming Coffee Cart! ✨☕ A warm beverage to go with a fresh meal — because love is in the details 🥰 Monday night was another strong one 💪 Together with about 40 incredible volunteers, we distributed: 🥪 240 sandwiches 🌭 100 hot dogs 📦 ~340 total meal bags, which also included: 🍎 Fresh fruit 🥨 Snacks 💧 Bottled water We were also able to hand out: 👟 10+ pairs of shoes 🧥 Clothing of all kinds 🪥 Toiletries & hygiene supplies And yes — hot coffee making its way block by block. ☕❤️ (thank you Edgar)!!! ✨ A MONDAY TO REMEMBER. ✨ Huge, huge thank you to Evans Hotels, who own the beautiful @bahiaresortsandiego and @catamaranresortsandiego for showing up in a massive way. They donated 100 fully stocked tote bags filled with blankets, towels, robes, slippers, hygiene supplies, and essentials — plus all their leftover care package supplies for future outreach! Because of them, 100 neighbors walked away with comfort, dignity, and practical support. 💛 We were also joined by: 🥪 Maranatha Chapel (250 sandwiches — every last Monday!) 🎓 @sdsuama 💻 @hightechhelps_ 🏫 UCSD volunteers 🙌 Nearly 100 volunteers total Together we distributed: 💼 100 Evan’s Hotels bags 🥪 250 sandwiches 💧 500+ waters 🥨 1,000+ snacks 🧥 Extra blankets, gloves & hoodies It was one of our biggest nights in a long time — and it happened because community showed up.
