Marius Eriksen Sport — founded in 1936.
What began as a modest sports shop in Oslo soon grew into something extraordinary. Streamlines skis were crafted, bindings were pioneered, and in the basement iconic sweaters took shape.
At the heart of it all was the founding family—Marius and Bitten Eriksen, together with their sons, Marius Jr. and Stein—each leaving a lasting mark on Norway’s alpine heritage in the 20th century.
Their vision sparked a remarkable chapter, defined by innovation, an adventurous spirit, and enduring style. Marius Eriksen Sport laid the foundation for a lasting legacy—one that Streamlines continues to honor and carry forward today.

At a time when skiing was becoming a symbol of Norwegian identity, Bitten Eriksen helped shape the look of the slopes. In the 1950s, her designs became part of the collections of the renowned German ski brand Bogner, bringing Norwegian knitwear and mountain style onto an international stage.
Her legacy goes far beyond patterns and wool. Bitten was also a pioneer for women in alpine skiing while building a successful career as businesswoman. Through quiet dedication and remarkable creativity, she helped weave together sport, culture, and tradition.
On International Women’s Day, we celebrate all the women who quietly keep the wheels turning. The creators, the caretakers, the builders, and the visionaries who often behind the scenes, shape our communities, our traditions, and our future.
