Miri is the founder of the interdisciplinary arts platform Dwam, an event series that brings together experimental live performance with bass-forwards club music, cultivating a community of artists working at the intersections of sound, dance & visual art. Ju’s practice takes shape in collaborative and site specific processes. Their latest work Nuclear Unclear reflects a daily that oscillates between haunted past and precognized futures. His work crafts spaces where perception hinges on sonic tension, taking form in spatial sound pieces, erratic sound collages and improvised music. He formed the duo Forster with musician Mitchell Keaney, and runs Mote, a studio for sound and image production and irregular publications. Through the heart of chaos they combine different areas of harsh noise, raw experimental sound, their hardcore, metal & screamo roots, contemporary electronics, drums and blending it all to contemporary finished mix. gertie’s work might be a bit troublemaker in general since for HC it’s too experimental and for experimental too HC, but the final piece is an unique genre crossover and its expression of contexts. They scream, they sing, modulate voice, but most importantly they spread a message, fight for human and animal rights, all accompanied by harsh yet fragile melancholy. Their music explores tension between hushed intimate spoken vocals and singing amidst soundscapes of guitars, bass and percussion soaked in electronically derived detailing.
