Going back to my roots with this little drone. I actually shot the most amount of content with my Osmo Pocket ultralight drone three years ago and this is my updated version. It gets a 10 minute hover time with 1100mah 6S GNB long range Lipos and Gemfan 6042 props WITH osmo pocket 1 onboard. Just for b-roll content and landscape shots but easy to use and inconspicuous with an AUW of 557g with pocket 1. This proof of concept convinced me to invest in the Osmo Pocket 3!

Gimbal V10 prototype seems to work! I should have 3D printed my previous design before doing a carbon fiber version. I can already tell that this one is going to be a lot smoother with the belt drive.

Meet Gimbal V10! The TPU "belt gears" were unsuccessful with getting a smooth motion without cogging or resistance. So V10 feature a real belt drive that will hopefully have little to no cogging, resistance, and backlash. Wish me luck! 😅

The gimbal mechanism works! The roll axis of course is not as smooth, but I think I can get it smoother by tweaking the gear design.

This was version 8 or 9 of the Flying Squirrel Frame. I thought it had vibration issues, but it ended up being the lens mount ring that was the culprit. The side braces didn't really improve vibration performance at all for this particular case. I ended up going for triangular A-frame arms instead because they provide better rigidity on the roll axis of the box cage.

I've been working on a compact and lightweight dual operator FPV drone design for use with small cameras like Blackmagic Micro Studio 4K G2, Sony ILX LR1, and GoPro w/Media Mod. This is the 3-axis gimbal design which turned out quite unorthodox given the space and weight constraints for the project.
