(link in bio) Once again laying his heart bare, across a broadened and evolved emotional and sonic landscape - moving with genuine honesty between stark vulnerability and overwhelming force. Clear state shifts run throughout the record. Going from stripped-down acoustic moments, reminiscent of a dark Johnny Cash-like intimacy - fragile and exposed, allowing silence and space to carry as much weight as sound and context itself - to moments where drums are hammering forward with relentless urgency, as if driven by something that can no longer be contained: a total me(n)tal outburst. In between, Iron Sight pushes forward with spine-breaking power electronics, a signature expression. Sheets of distortion grind and scream, synths strike with precision and low-ends throb like a blood vessel under strain. His voice perpetually shifts along, delivering direct lyrics that cut deep - overloading a system on the brink. Yet Catatonic Daydreamer is not built on these contrasts alone. Its strength lies in how these elements coexist in equal levels of personal intensity. To walk away untouched from this record would require the full absence of empathy. (link in bio) The French composer, performer and artist gives an incisive exploration of the emotional vertigo of ambiguous relationships: those destabilizing, uncomfortable zones where desire and unease dissolve into one another. To be released on Strange Therapy, the album traces the psychological drift that takes hold when intimacy accelerates but never arrives: expectations splinter into dynamic shifts, dissonance, and subtle misalignments. Dannancier approaches this instability without confessional softness; instead, she treats it as material to be shaped, studied, and sonically unsettled.
