STRAIN is the creative project of Aidan Brown, a talented musician hailing from Pōneke. Aidan’s musical journey began in the serene landscapes of the South Island, where he honed his craft as a live musician. However, his destiny took an enthralling twist when he was introduced to Psytrance music during his visits to the Takaka Bush Doofs.
In 2019, Aidan made Pōneke his new home, and it was here that his creative spirit truly flourished. Under the alias “Ottic,” he explored the world of Drum & Bass, gracing the stages of the capital city and the vibrant summer festival scene with his infectious beats. But the evolution of his sound didn’t stop there.
In 2021, Aidan embraced the persona of STRAIN, a pivotal moment in his journey, after he joined Team Moksha. When you experience STRAIN’s performances, be prepared for a captivating voyage defined by hypnotic basslines, immersive organic soundscapes, and an unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of the trance experience.
