OPEN CALL — THE PARTICIPATORY STAGE 🎭 What if theatre moved outdoors — and the audience became the actors? STPLN invites artists, performers, designers, architects, and cultural practitioners to apply for a 6-week residency in Malmö exploring participatory theatre, public space, and collective storytelling. 📍 Malmö, Sweden 📅 1 July – 14 August 2026 ⏰ Application deadline: 7 June 2026 Together, a multidisciplinary group of participants will co-create performances and temporary spatial interventions with local audiences at Kommendanthuset and surrounding public spaces. Calling all creatives — The Lab is open! 🚪✨ STPLN’s cultural incubator is now accepting applications from artists, makers, and cultural practitioners ready to take the next step in their practice. The Lab offers a focused, supportive environment built around collaboration, exchange, and community — with space to grow alongside other creatives. Apply before May 18. Show us what you do, and where you want to go next!

Since we moved almost a year back, we have worked hard to adjust to this new beautiful space, finding our footing and moving forward. The new STPLN is a hub for independent creators, still with an open and free coworking space, lots of events, space for creative exploration and community based non-formal learning, and we house a warm and welcoming community. 🌒 AMBER NIGHTS 1 🌘 The first of amber eons: ’AMBER NIGHTS’ took place last night, filling STPLN with visitors and vibrant energy. The evening featured a rich and inspiring programme of mingling, Agnes Hjalmarsson’s exhibited artworks, and a powerful excerpt from Ray Roa Alonso’s ”before my heart has grown dirty” performed by Daniel Jeremiah Persson with music by Andy Yeo. Visitors also took part in an after-talk and an informative lecture by Tobias Hübinette on the history of East and Southeast Asians in relation to Sweden, as well as anti-Asian racism. Earlier in the day, Uma Feed gave a powerful and important lecture on the legal case she is pursuing against the Norwegian state concerning illegal adoption — a subject that moved many and sparked important conversations. The evening marked a powerful beginning for amber eons: AMBER NIGHTS — filled with art, stories, reflection, and meaningful encounters. 🌒 AMBER EONS 🌘 Uma Feed håller föredrag om den stämning hon väckt mot norska staten för illegal adoption (människo trafficking) och hur processen ser ut för att driva den. Efter blev det samtal med Uma, AMBER EONS och TAR (Transnationellt adopterades riksorganisation). Så otroligt viktigt och värdefullt samtal som kommer kunna underlätta för adoprerade i Sverige framöver. Tack för ett fint samarbete Uma Feed och @tarsverige

Inför det kommande valet bjuder STPLN in till en kväll där Malmös lokalpolitiker berättar om sina visioner. Vi har bjudit in representanter från samtliga partier för att presentera sina kulturpolitiska program med ett särskilt fokus på den fria sektorn och de kulturella och kreativa branscherna (KKB). Det blev en dag i studion med förberedelser och planering inför Amber nights på lördag. Vi ser fram emot att få dela med oss av vår process och hoppas att ni vill komma och uppleva det tillsammans med oss. Under kvällen blir det även finbesök av Tobias Hübinette som kommer att prata om öst- och sydostasiaternas historia samt om situationen i Sverige i relation till den asiatiska diasporan i världen och antiasiatisk rasism.
