Salt Water (2025), is a visual testimony to our debut collection. Two timelines woven together: present day and archival footage captured by our designer’s father on the shores of Barbados in 1989. What began as a family archive became a foundational thread in the story of our debut collection. Through sound, memory, and spoken word, the film traces the path of surrender that leads us to grace.

What a beautiful evening celebrating the launch of BDC Magazine 🤍
@blackdesignersofcanada has created something truly meaningful, a publication dedicated to amplifying Black Canadian voices across design, all in one place.
Flipping through those pages and seeing @nndyve inside felt incredibly special. A beautiful reminder that the work we pour into our dreams can travel further than we imagine.
Deeply grateful to @realgeorgesully for including NNDYVE in the Genesis Issue and for creating space for so many Black creatives to be seen, documented, and celebrated. I’m honoured to share those pages with so many talented Black Canadians.
Launching this during Black History Month made the moment even more meaningful. Not just reflecting on history, but witnessing the present. Black Canadian talent isn’t “up next.” We are here. We are building. We are creating. And trust me… the room was a vibe ✨
Through this process I learned to slow down and trust the work. Every step from concept to stitch to story taught me something about faith and timing.
I hope this series encourages other designers to see their process as art. To know that what is unseen often matters most. 🖤

Nothing ever goes exactly as planned. But that’s the beauty of The Workroom. It’s where you learn to listen to the fabric, to your instincts, to the quiet voice that says “try again.” Every stitch, every adjustment, every long night, it all adds up to something you can finally feel proud of.
Chapter 3 of Behind the Vision is now live on YouTube.

In this chapter of Behind the Vision, I open my sketchbook. This is where ideas leave my head and take their first shape on paper. This stage is about clarity, not perfection. I look forward to sharing how these sketches grow into form in the episodes to come.

I’m sharing my process through ‘Behind the Vision’, a series documenting the path to my debut collection Salt Water. Chapter 1 begins at the foundation: The Concept.
I hope you find value in seeing how I approach the foundation of a collection, with more of my process revealed in the episodes ahead.
