Today is National Fentanyl Awareness Day. Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid that is up to 50 times stronger than heroin. Just a tiny amount can be deadly. Illicit fentanyl is often mixed into other drugs without a personโ€™s knowledge, increasing the risk of accidental overdose. One pill, one use, can be enough to take a life. We urge our community to stay informed, talk to your loved ones, and never take medications that are not prescribed to you.

Fatal Single-Vehicle Traffic Crash - 34th Street North At 9:20 a.m. Monday (April 20), a red Jeep SUV was seen traveling erratically and weaving through northbound traffic in the 1200 block of 34th Street North before it veered off the road and struck a street sign on 14th Avenue North. The Jeep Compass Trailhawk SUV, driven by Ralph Locke (DOB 11/14/1947) of Chicago, came to a stop in the driveway at 1390 34th St. N.
