Last night I had the privilege of attending the Goals 4 Girls event at adidas HQ in London — and I’m incredibly grateful to have been invited back for a second year to support such an important mission. ⚽️❤️
Goals 4 Girls is a female-led football and wellbeing programme creating safe spaces for girls through sport, mentoring and mental wellbeing support. What they’re building goes far beyond football — it’s confidence, community, opportunity and representation.
Some of the impact they’ve made so far:
• 4,600 girls supported since 2011
• 6,060 engagement hours delivered through football, wellbeing & mentoring
• 3,880+ hours of safe physical activity provided
• 72% of participants live in areas of deprivation
• 67% are eligible for free school meals
• 89% identify as from ethnically diverse backgrounds
• 100% of programmes delivered in female-only environments
And yet, despite impact like this, female-led charities and programmes supporting girls and women still face huge barriers when it comes to funding, visibility and investment. The conversation last night highlighted how often these organisations are expected to deliver transformational outcomes with a fraction of the support and resources given elsewhere.
Events like last night leave me feeling both frustrated and energised. Frustrated that the inequalities still exist. Energised because rooms full of passionate people pushing for change remind me why these conversations matter — and why we all need to keep doing more.
