A handful of individual tickets, table captain tickets, and sponsored tables are still available, but not for long.
Ticket sales close Friday, May 22.
We know the event isn’t until May 30, but pulling off a 1,200-person dinner takes some logistical magic, and we need the week in between to finalize seating, food counts, and a thousand other details.
May 22 is also the deadline to send us your guest list and any dietary restrictions. We are emailing all ticket holders about this - please keep an eye on your inbox!

Did you know? Every ticket to this year’s Table for 1200 includes a meal donated to someone in Winnipeg’s marginalized communities through Chef Ben Kramer’s charity, Made With Love.
Last September at Blankets for 1200, our community came together with @mainstreetproject and @ndinawemakcommunitycare to serve 1,500 meals. It was a powerful reminder of how far collaboration, culture, and community care can stretch. Blanket design by @lornaparashin in consultation with the community.
When you buy a seat at the table, you’re also setting one for someone else.

With gratitude to @chefbenkramer and Made with Love.

What is a Table Captain?
Curious about becoming a Table Captain at Storefront’s Table for 1200, but want to know what you’re signing up for?
Table Captains are the hosts of the evening. Whether your table is filled with friends, colleagues, or a mix of new faces, your Captain makes sure every guest feels welcome, knows the lay of the land, and has an unforgettable night.
Here’s the gist:
- You and your partner will host 6 additional guests and act as their main point of contact
- You’re in charge of decorating your table. You can go all out and compete for cash prizes, or keep it simple with minimum 8 cloth napkins
- We supply the basics (plates, cutlery, glassware) your imagination handles the rest!
Designing your table? Pick a theme and run with it. Think lighting, flowers, centrepieces, place cards, napkin rings, runners, placemats, trimmings, charger plates, carafes. And play with texture, colour, pattern, contrast, hierarchy, whimsy. Use the space under, around, between, and above the table elements.
Swipe through for inspiration from past editions of Table for 1200!
Ready to host? Find the Table Captain’s Manual on our website. Link in bio.

Announcing the 2026 Benchmark Winner: The Giving Tree by Dale Wiebe and Evan McPherson!
We’re excited to share this year’s Benchmark winning project, a proposal that moved the jury with its care, clarity, and connection to place.
Benchmark is an international design competition by Storefront Manitoba and Winnipeg Trails that reimagines the bench as public art and a space for community connection. This year’s themes, “The Language of the Land” and “The Life of a Tree,” guide a project that will become part of Grant Park High School’s Indigenous Language Nodes and Outdoor Classroom Project.
The site is Rooster Town Park, adjacent to the high school, renamed to honour the Métis community displaced by mid-20th-century urban development. A birch tree on the site has been marked for removal. The Giving Tree asks: how might this tree continue to honour the place it has lived?
Drawing on a traditional Métis story in which trees are sites of generosity, memory, and exchange, Dale and Evan will harvest the birch and transform it into a new gathering space. Seating and ground elements will trace the former reach of the canopy, while charred and carefully finished wood offer additional durable and expressive elements. The stump will hold an offering bowl, allowing the tree to keep receiving stories and gifts.
Together, Dale and Evan work as a shared design research practice engaging time, water, and living matter, treating landscapes as living archives shaped through care and interaction between human and non-human worlds.
Launch coming this summer - stay tuned for more details!

Storefront’s Table for 1200 Location Announced!
This year’s event will be held in Winnipeg’s most beloved, most storied, and most unavoidable venue: a pothole on Kenaston Boulevard in the style of @allanwexlerstudio “farm-to-table”.
Winnipeg’s street infrastructure has long been a cornerstone of our civic identity. This year, we’re finally celebrating it in style. Guests will descend into a beautiful below-grade dining experience featuring white linens, pink florals, and crumbling asphalt as far as the eye can see.
The pothole has been with us through every spring. It only felt right that it helps us celebrate this one.
Dress code: black, white, and pink. Sensible footwear strongly encouraged.
Tickets available now!
