Two years after the vote on the EU Pact against Migration, we need to understand what this law means in reality and how it legalizes racist violence even further. We thank Hiwa and the Letters of Resistance project for their perseverance and work.

🚨Last week, we took to the streets! 🚨 📢 The Transnational Day against the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum was powerful. We were many. We made noise. But the struggle isn’t over. 💥 The week of actions may be ending, but resistance continues—across Europe and beyond. 🔴 HOW THE PACT KILLS PRIVACY 🔴 📌 Mandatory ID & Security Checks: 🔎 Undocumented people will be forced to provide biometric data (fingerprints + face scans). 👶 Even children as young as 6 will be included. ❌ Refusing means automatic deportation. 📌 A Massive Surveillance System: 📂 Biometric data will be stored in Eurodac, a centralized database accessible by: • 🏢 National authorities • 👮‍♂️ Police & Europol • 🛂 Frontex & EU agencies • ⚖️ Judicial authorities • 📌 Data Sharing with Non-EU Countries: 📡 If deportation is ordered, personal data can be shared with non-EU states—putting people at risk. 🕘 These records will be kept for 5-10 years. ❗️ MIGRATION IS NOT A CRIME ❗️ The Pact cross-checks migrants' data with criminal databases, reinforcing the racist, false idea that migration is a threat. This is discrimination at a systemic level. 🚫 We refuse this criminalization. 🚫 We resist mass surveillance. 🚫 We fight for dignity and rights for all. ✊ Join the transnational movement against the Pact & anti-migration policies. Stay tuned for future actions. If you would like to join us, please send an email to [email protected] 🔗 #thispactkills

🚨 THE EU PACT DOES NOT BRING SOLIDARITY 🚨 Despite the EU's attempts to sell its Pact on Migration and Asylum as a solution to increase solidarity—between EU countries, not with people—it does not even achieve this. The Pact fails to guarantee fair distribution or dignified reception for people on the move. It does not reform the Dublin system. 🔴 What does this mean? ➡️ Frontline states will continue to bear the responsibility of processing asylum claims. This will lead to worsening reception conditions and more violations of rights. ➡️ Migrants will be even more isolated at borders, making it harder for lawyers, activists, and organizations to support them and document violence. 📌 A "Solidarity Mechanism" in Name Only Instead of real support, EU states can simply pay €20,000 per person instead of hosting asylum seekers. This money will go toward: 💰 Third countries & frontline states to stop migration. 🚧 Fences, walls, surveillance, Frontex & police forces. ❌ Detention & deportation centres. In the end, migrants will once again suffer the consequences, denied their most basic rights. 🚫 This is not our solidarity. ✊ Solidarity with the people, not with the Pact. 🛑 The week of actions and awareness raising against the EU Pact is ending… but the fight must go on! 📅 The Pact is set to enter into force in June 2026. But it is not inevitable. It depends on our silence—or our resistance. We have another option: to refuse, to block, to impose our will… to build a future where we reclaim what they are trying to take away from us—dignity, solidarity, freedom. We need everyone. 📢 Join the transnational movement against the Pact & anti-migration policies. On 10 April 2025, one year after the adoption of the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum in the European Parliament, activists have taken to the streets, organised events, poster and flyer actions, and blockades and direct actions across Europe and Africa. 💥 We have raised awareness on the deadly intentions and consequences of the Pact: This Pact kills. It abolishes asylum and movement, criminalizes migration, and strengthens state repression. Once it enters into force (June 2026) it will further isolate, render invisible, make precarious and deport people arriving in Europe. It fuels far-right policies and turns Europe into a fortress of exclusion. 🧱 We have shown our resistance to these policies and the racist system behind it: We say NO to borders. NO to state-sponsored racism. NO to this attack on human rights. 🔥 Anti-migration policies impose a world where survival is a daily struggle, where borders kill and where people are criminalised. The EU Asylum and Migration Pact is not an exception, but a laboratory of repression and neo-colonial exclusion. We are united as a growing transnational network of groups and collectives. We will continue to struggle together, against the Pact and the system of borders, detention, isolation and racism that it fuels. If you would like to join us, please send an email to [email protected] 👋 #thispactkills

🚨 THE EU PACT KILLS FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT 🚨 As part of the week of actions against the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum, we unpack how this Pact makes detention the norm and traps people in a system of endless control. ⚠️ HOW DOES THE PACT IMPOSE MASS DETENTION? 🔒 Fiction of Non-Entry: 📍 Upon arrival, people will be detained for 3 to 7 days during screening. They won’t even be considered on EU soil. 🔒 Trapped at the Border: ⏳ Many will be forced into a 12-week asylum procedure at the border—not allowed to leave. 🔒 Forced Relocation & Detention: 🚧 If apprehended in another EU country, people will be sent back to their first country of arrival—often detained while waiting. 🔒 Detained During Deportation: ❌ If their asylum claim is rejected, they’ll be held in prison-like conditions during the ‘return’ process, which can last months or even years. 🚨 Families, children & vulnerable people will be detained for long periods, with no legal representation—only minimal legal advice. This is not migration policy—this is a detention regime. ❌ The EU Pact erases asylum. ❌ It criminalizes migration. ❌ It turns borders into prisons. ✊ We resist. 📢 We fight for freedom of movement & migrant rights. 🗓️ 10 April 2025 → One year since the Pact’s adoption, we take to the streets. 🚨 Join us. Share this. Take action. 🚨 🔗 Stay tuned for more updates.#ThisPactKills #ThisPactKillsFreedom *** The General Assembly Against the Pact is calling for a week of actions and awareness raising against the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum across Europe and the world, culminating on 10 April, the anniversary of the adoption of the Pact.

🚨 THE EU PACT KILLS ASYLUM 🚨 📢 As part of the week of actions against the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum, we unpack the Pact and how erases the right to asylum and endangers lives. ⚠️ WHAT DOES THE PACT DO? 🛑 Forces asylum seekers (including families, children & unaccompanied minors) to stay up to 12 weeks at the border—often in detention centres. ❌ Denies free legal representation—only basic legal advice is offered. 🚧 Mandatory border procedures for those who: Are labeled a ‘security risk, have given ‘false or incomplete’ info, come from countries with asylum recognition rates under 20%—affecting many fleeing violence & poverty. ⚠️ It gets worse in a so-called ‘crisis’! ⚠️ ➡️ If the EU decides there's a ‘mass arrival,’ they can extend these procedures to more people—including those from countries with recognition rates under 50%. ➡️ The EU alone decides what is a ‘crisis’—leaving it to political interests. ⚡ The EU is expanding the list of ‘safe’ countries to fast-track deportations—even including nations that haven't signed the Refugee Convention! This isn’t about safety, it’s about closing borders. ❌ The EU Pact destroys the right to asylum. ❌ It criminalises migration and legitimises repression. ❌ It’s a tool for exclusion, detention, and deportation. ✊ We resist. 📢 We fight for open borders and migrant rights. 🗓️ 10 April 2025 → One year since the Pact’s adoption, we take to the streets. 🚨 Join us. 🔥 The General Assembly Against the Pact calls for a WEEK of ACTIONS and AWARENESS RAISING🔥 🗓️ 10 April 2025 → One year after the EU Parliament adopted the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum, we will not stay silent. We will take to the streets, raise awareness, and resist. 🚨 This Pact kills. It abolishes asylum and movement, criminalizes migration, and strengthens state repression. Once it enters into force (June 2026) it will further isolate, render invisible, make precarious and deport people arriving in Europe. It fuels far-right policies and turns Europe into a fortress of exclusion. 📢 We say NO to borders. NO to state-sponsored racism. NO to this attack on human rights. Anti-migration policies impose a world where survival is a daily struggle, where borders kill and where people are criminalised. The EU Asylum and Migration Pact is not an exception, but a laboratory of repression, neo-colonial exclusion and state-sponsored racism. It is the perfect tool for far-right and fascist governments to fuel, fund and legitimise their national anti-immigration policies. Fighting the Pact is an indispensable and urgent part of a broader struggle for social, civil and human rights. On 10 April 2025, one year after the adoption of the Pact, we will not celebrate. We will take to the streets and protest everywhere at the same time: in the capitals of our countries, in the EU institutions, at the borders, in every detention centre. We must continue to fight for open borders, the decolonisation of Europe and rights for all. In the next days, we will be sharing information to unpack the Pact. We call for solidarity with the people, not with the Pact. 🔴 Join us! 📍 Protest in your city. 📢 Spread the word. 🛑 Fight for open borders & migrant rights. It’s time to Inform. Prepare. Resist. Follow us for updates! 🔗 #ThisPactKills *** About the GA Against the Pact: It's a transnational anti-Pact front made of collectives and activists against the current European anti-migration policy
