We've been working on something big! Community members will now be able to better understand how public dollars are allocated with our new online budget book! The city starts its fiscal year 2027 budget planning this May, so mark your calendars for key public budget dates: 📌 August 3: the council reviews the first draft of the general fund budget. 📌 September 8: presentation of the 10-year capital improvement plan to the city council. 📌 September 22: the council considers the preliminary property tax levy. Our finance team is also very proud to introduce the new online budget book. The budget book is an interactive tool offering a new look at how public dollars are allocated to support city services, invest in infrastructure improvements, and build a stable financial future for the city. Without visiting city hall or attending a meeting, residents can explore dedicated landing pages for each city department to: 👉 See the why behind spending. 👉 View spending across the city. 👉 Take a deep dive into financial policies, city-wide spending reports, revenue projections and historical financial information. Visit the City Budget Book link in our bio (www.stlouisparkmn.gov/budget)!

Why did the turtle cross the road? In the springtime, usually in search of a safe place to dig a nest and lay their eggs. Those shells may be strong, but they’re no match for car or bike tires, so we encourage you to give them a little help crossing roadways and sidewalks. Do your best to observe which direction the turtle is headed; if put back where they started our determined reptile friends will turn right back around and try again!

Dogs must be leashed in city parks 🐶 The leash law in St. Louis Park requires that dogs in city parks be on leashes no more than 20 feet long, and which can be shortened to 6 feet when another person or animal is within 20 feet. Please also keep your dogs off recreational fields (like soccer, baseball, etc.) in city parks to ensure they stay in good condition for residents to enjoy. And please, please, please don't forget to clean up after your dogs💩
