#sewing is the one thing i have never been able to not do!!!
Just finished this pillow case from exquisite vintage Italian brocade, at the request of a customer at the Studio. I had to share, i just adore this fabric.
Mending today & loving our new range of #organiccotton sewing threads. 100% GOTS cirtified organic cotton sewing thread. WHY? Because we care about the impact of micro-plastics on the environment and our health. When you take a look at how much thread waste our workshop produces each day, you will be glad to know that we are making the shift away from polyester sewing thread towards these lovely bio-degradable organic cotton threads.
We have these for sale in our Byron Bay Store, if you want to make the switch as well 💕🧵
Sharing this invitation to Sing and Stitch. A wonderful way to spend a craftanoon!
Words from their page:
Come stitch and sing on a Sunday afternoon in Winter. Sally and Gabrielle weave their passions of crafting and singing into the circle. We will sing prayers around a lush craft altar and you are invited to stitch these prayers into a uniquely crafted bundle.
Sitting in a circle of women, crafting and singing is a potent fusion of creative expression, community and healing. This sacred space will weave together the meditative rhythm of stitching and crafting, invite presence, welcome the uplifting frequency of singing as one and we shall share stories whilst honoring the wisdom and traditions of our ancestors. By embodying the power of collective feminine energy we find comfort, empowerment and transformation. As we craft and sing together we tap into a beauty-filled space whilst singing our prayers.
This will be a nourishing and nurturing afternoon of lightness and creation, with the intention to open our voices and create a magical piece to take home.
Bring cushions, a water bottle and comfy things to sit on and a special patch of material or beads/bobs you may have in your craft box to personalise your bundle.
Sally is a craftist and arts therapist and has been making sacred pieces and holding craft spaces since she was little. Her joy is to make something from nothing in freestyle, intentional and emergent ways through trusting the process. Sally finds that as she stitches, weaves and uniquely matches materials and threads, a crystalline presence arrives where messages from deep within her well of knowing arrive to the surface.
Gabrielle Eupohoria is a singer songwriter based in the Northern Rivers. Her songs are a call to the hearts of all, to awaken and remember the truth of who we are here to be. Holding faith in the healing power of music, she carries songs that deliver medicine for the earth, the sacred elements and for all of life.
Spaces are limited so pre-book to reserve your spot.
HAPPY WORLD EMBROIDERY DAY!!! #worldembroideryday in appreciation of epic embroidery… this is a snap of some lovley embroidery from a tunic that i am in the process of re-fitting for its new owner.
Ive been working with Hemp Spandex for over 10 years. Its my stretchy fabric of choice. I still have pieces in my wardrobe that i made that long ago, and i find it just keeps its shape, far superior to other spandex or lycra blends. Im now sharing the love and have a selection available for purchase at the Shop & ill let yall know when it’s available on the web site… one thing at a time! 😛
