🥈in the Superior Spring 50K. Felt off from the get go & the sneaky heat didn’t help. It ultimately felt like a long run that wasn’t going super well. Big congrats to @kirkdewindtpt on the win!
The thought of dropping out flooded my head often, but I ultimately had too much on the line to not finish. My mantra became Finish Your Race..
Finished for my family - loved having @missamorey out there crushing her trail debut finishing 🥈 in the 25K
Finished for my athletes - shoutout to @winger_23 finishing 5th today successfully completing a stout 50K Trifecta in 5 weeks
Finished for my coach/solo crew - @ericborer proves to be the perfect amount of encouragement and logic keeping me out there when doubt is weighing heavy
Finished for myself - there is no way I was going to let a drop haunt my upcoming Superior 100 debut in the fall..I had to find that line
Even when things weren’t clicking I found myself enjoying a beautiful day in the woods on my favorite brutally rugged Minnesota trails. Thanks as always to @rocksteadyrunning & the volunteers for putting on an amazing event & creating an incredible trail community in our corner of the world.
