a little known fact these days.. is that Alva started out as ambient parties, way back when in oakland.. sleep parties to be exact! these led up to more experimental/ folk/ ritual/ quiet noise/ electronic shows. & we only really started throwing dance events after landing in olympia, cause they were so obviously needed here 😅
ambient parties are tricky & really need the right atmosphere to support the music & soothe the social anxiety. it’s very exciting to finally have a lil dream space of our own that can hold this kinda magic.
we’re settin up a cozy chill lounge for this, a landscape of beds blankets n pillows. dress comfy & come prepared to lounge & space out 🪐 this is a quiet show so pls skip it if u like to get drunk & loud lol. we will ask ppl to leave if they’re being obnoxious, disrupting the vibe, or making anyone uncomfortable.
