The surreal experience of passing through a lava tube where endemic blind albino crabs live, with fabulous design and architecture by artist César Manrique built into the space, along with a trippy volcano museum and amphitheater. #jameosdelagua #lanzarote
Storm Goretti left areas of the Kent Coast around Folkestone battered by high winds on Thursday night into Friday. Scenes of displaced beach huts were reminiscent of the Wizard of Oz. A section of sea wall was destroyed at Mermaid Beach and the A259 Sandgate Esplanade Road between Folkestone and Hythe was closed as cleanup crews and residents worked to remove swaths of shingle washed up by the storm. 📷 Sarah Tilotta/Getty Images
My little Superhero turned 4 earlier this autumn (embarrassed how long it's taken to share!) He is energy incarnate, a constant blur of motion and moments I want to capture and mostly cannot. He blows my mind with how much he already understands the world, (a self-proclaimed 'know-it-all') while his infinite curiosity is forever making me see things I thought I knew more clearly. So grateful for all the warmth, joy, adventure and perspective this wonderful little human shares with us every day 🌟
On Sunday volunteers and workers from the local council and specialist microplastic removal nonprofit, Nurdle, worked tirelessly to remove plastic pellets after a spill at Camber Sands beach last week. Vast numbers of the plastic beads have washed up on the East Sussex coast, not far from where I live. We’ve often visited this beach, and, like the local volunteers I spoke with said, it feels devastating that this has happened on such a beautiful and beloved stretch of coast (or anywhere, for that matter!) The UK Environment Agency says it is working to identify the source of the pollution. 📷 Sarah Tilotta/Getty Images #microplastics #pollution
Postcard from Edinburgh, earlier this week. I've lived in the UK for more than a decade and travelled in Scotland several times, but, inexplicably, had yet to visit this gem of a city. Naturally, I fell in love with its inherent romance, gothic style, and of course the gregarious Scots, but it was even more appealing to experience it (quite literally) through the lens of my dear friend @megvogelphoto . In the short span of time we had together, we shared so many serendipitous moments that only happen in the best of company. It didn't hurt that the witches were on our side, conjuring up some beautiful autumn weather 🍂☀️
My first time taking part in @mostwutheringheightsdayfolke 💃 Love these Folke of all stripes, totally up for donning their best red dress to dance to Kate Bush in the lashing rain. Pure magic!✨
