P is for: Popping your spare change in the charity Pot 👛
In the three months since we chose @stillgoodf as our charity, you've helped raise £18! That's just from popping a coin or two in the pot here and there.
Here's Kerrie from Still Good Food as she made her first collection earlier this month. All funds raised go toward the charity's work in reducing food waste and saving surplus stock from supermarkets 👏
So, next time you shop with us, and if you can afford to, please consider donating some of your change to this excellent cause 🙌

🧅🧅🧅🧅🧅Gleaned field onions in both shops today.
We have the support of 4 local companies that are making this work possible pls see photos and thanks below.
Again, these onions are crisp and brightly flavoured but the supermarkets won't take them so we are so pleased to be given the opportunity, by local farmers, to gather this fantastic 'surplus' and save it from being wasted.
Last and definitely not least THANKS to our volunteers for coming along and working out in the field, always a great job.

🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓STRAWBERRIES today at Elseys Yard and, hopefully more to come.
THANKS to Clive and Paul Williamson at Maynards Farm in Bradfield Combust. Gathering local farm surplus is very much a part of our work at Still Good Food and working with our local farming community is linking local people to the produce that surrounds them at a great price: THANKYOU 🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓
Ready, Steady, Glean! 🌱 🍏 🥕
We’ve got exciting news: our Gleaning Network has just secured new funding from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). And we’re ready to hit the fields!
Gleaning is all about rescuing perfectly good fruit and veg from farmers’ fields — and getting it into communities instead of letting it go to waste. It’s a hands-on and fun way to prevent food waste, and we’re proud it’s always been an important part of Foodrise’s work.
We’re teaming up with six brilliant gleaning groups across England who are ready to get going. Together, these groups helped redirect more than 70 tonnes of surplus produce last year.
Foodrise (formerly Feedback) is leading the gleaning project alongside Khepera in Buckinghamshire, Sussex Surplus in Brighton, Avon Gleaning Network based across Bristol and Bath, Deal With It who are part of Transition Deal in Kent, Still Good Food in Bury St Edmunds and Alchemic Kitchen in Merseyside.
“We’re thrilled that our gleaning partnership has received this new funding,” says Phil Holtam, Regional Programmes Manager at Foodrise. “Gleaning is a brilliant example of environmental and social action – food waste is reduced, the complexity of food and farming is better understood, communities engage in social action, and marginalised communities are able to access healthy, nutritious food. We’re looking forward to getting going in partnership with six other brilliant organisations to tackle food waste and feed our communities.”
We’re rising up to fight food waste, feed communities, and bring people together — one field at a time 🌱 🍏
Thanks to everyone who attended our Bunny Bonanza today! 🐰
We had so much fun transforming our friends into bunnies with our face painting and ear making workshop, and we had lots of fun reading lots of bunny tales with our interactive storyteller!
Thanks to our charity of the year, Still Good Food, for coming along - to learn more about this wonderful charity, make sure you head over to their Instagram page and give them a follow @stillgoodf

🥔💚🥔💚🥔💚🥔💚The spuds just keep coming! 1,100kg today from the Moulton Farm, thanks to Velcourt Farms, Thanks to Herd Van Hire ( free ), thanks to Mike at Jubilee Farm for storage and thanks to the GREAT TEAM OF GLEANERS who bagged up 72 sacks in 1.5 hours and thanks for the help the other end off loading. What a great morning. We're nearly at the end of these emptying these potato bins so love your spud today and fir as long as they keep coming. 🥔💚🥔💚🥔💚🥔💚
A massive thank you to Sainsbury's for a whopping 18 crates of cakes, pastries, donuts, cookies and some bread today. Sooo many sweet treats rescued from landfill! Come and fill your bags tomorrow. Both shops open 2-4pm on Mondays 💚
🥔💓🥔💓🥔💓On going HUGE THANKS to Velcourt Farms, at Moulton, for contacting us again this year to collect their "trial crop potatoes" these are grown to ascertain yield and disease resistance and cannot be sold on but they are perfectly safe to eat
and are really good spuds, making wonderful chips, in fact the lot! mash, roast and baking beautifully.
On Friday we got 1.5 tonnes which brings us to just over 6.5 tonnes of potatoes we have had from this farm in 2024.
We are returning to this farm 2.1.25 for more.
STILL GOOD FOOD are delighted to have this opportunity to save this food and bring it into Bury St Edmunds and Great Barton for families, individuals, Food Banks, Social supermarkets and other charities to eat.
Potatoes are the cornerstone of so many meals and rescuing this food is so important. THANKYOU to all the FARMERS we work with. This year we have bought just over 17 tonnes of fresh produce from local farms into Bury St Edmunds for local people to enjoy.
Pls see our website for opening times and info:
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE INVOLVED WITH STILL GOOD FOOD and all those join us in 2025. We look forward to seeing you. 🥔♥️🥔♥️🥔♥️
