Although this sound never really caught on with the Austrian hardcore kids (except maybe with the last Racial Abuse record?), historically we’ve been surrounded by strongholds of the edge-metal sound. Whether it’s Sentence in the south or Akephal up north, European metalcore has always sounded gnarlier than the American counterpart to my ears. What these kids are doing in 2025 definitely lives up to the high standards earlier bands established:
