Slightly overdue post - hyrox cardiff
trained for 5 weeks and things were looking good then took a 2 week break for travel which completely cooked me. Simply didnt train enough. My fitness wasn’t on par with the goal we wanted but still got 5 mins faster than last time. felt a lot harder than last time.
back to powerlifting full time for quite a significant time 👍
running maybe once in a while but prep for ST has started
Stopped coaching @vicenteortizf as my only client about 3 months ago but coached him for about a year so thought id make a post
He already was quite strong and had a good foundation so just had to set a program and make some minor tweaks to technique
went from feb 2025 185/115/240=540 ish to feb 2026 comp 220/130/260=610 with kilos in the tank for all lifts. Shoulder injury didnt help before the comp but was expecting about 137.5-140 if it didnt happen. A good 70 kilo atleast on the total over the year.
least to say quite proud of him and myself lol. some difficulties learning to work around hamstring tendonitis but figured out a system in the end but was probably time he moved onto a new coach.
i wanna take coaching slightly more seriously now so dm if interested :)

squat had kilos in the tank. 2 months in and very happy with it.
Bench a bit disappointed but decent considering i had to change grip for the new rules.
Thought 245 didnt get off the ground so i just gave up. mightve been there mightve not. gotta get used to sticking with a deadlift.
got 527 from a 525-550 range so considering i didnt get below my range, went 7/9 and this is after ive been out for over a year im happy lol
