I am proud to honor these outstanding women and young people, who have made a meaningful difference in the lives of our neighbors. Special thanks to Prafulba "Pinky" Vaghela for her invaluable assistance in making this event such a success. The honorees come from across the Town of Huntington and from different backgrounds, but all have contributed greatly to improving the quality of life in our community and are dedicated to helping others. They truly represent the best of our community.

Thank you to President Charles Ciravolo and the members of the South Huntington Educational Foundation (SHEF) for inviting me to their Board meeting yesterday. SHEF does incredible work in our community providing resources to help students and staff realize their fullest potential. I was so proud to secure grant funding at the conclusion of the State Legislative session for SHEF to assist with their critical mission and I look forward to continuing our work together to ensure we bring home our fair share from Albany for South Huntington.
