If you’re looking for holiday gift ideas this season, I’m proud to humbly offer some of my woodworking pieces for the first time. Over the last few years, I’ve spent most of my creative energy learning the craft as we’ve raised our daughter and generally traveled less. If that’s not your thing, no fret, I’ve also updated my website with more recent photography work and am now offering new locally sourced prints. And if you’re looking for a deal, everything is 20% off through December 2nd! You’ll find a link to my website in my bio - thank you!
A recent coffee table build I did for my home office. This was one of those projects that lingered for a while as I made progress here and there for a couple of months. Conceptually, it’s a simple and clean design, one solid (and heavy) piece with rounded edges throughout. I may move this upstairs eventually which will match our dining table, but mainly I wanted to keep it simple to showcase the beautiful wood (walnut, all from the same tree) supplied by Mark at @windwood_llc He also supplied the wood for the hollow form (elm burl) and platter (birch). I plan to start offering some of my turned work for sale like those in the near future so keep an eye out.
A couple of fall photos from the @portlandjapanesegarden including one of the most photographed trees in the world. I’ve been doing a ton of work in my yard including a new deck and my own little Japanese garden. The Japanese maple bug hit me hard and droves of them have somehow managed to invade my backyard 😜 I’m sure I’ll be sharing some photos at some point and hopefully fall will be beautiful like these.
A few photos from probably my favorite area in Iceland. When my wife and I went (way back when), we did the camper van thing and circled the island. The first time around there wasn’t any ice on the beach so we made a 2nd trip in the last couple of days we had. What’s another 5 hour drive, right?! So glad we did…
