The Eye of Horus
(also known as the eye of Ra)
is the symbol that identifies the Catathymic Imaginative Experience. It is an Egyptian hieroglyph that resembles a human eye with a forehead and a line of eyeliner extending outward. The lower part represents a stylized bird plumage, to recall the falcon features attributed to the god. Used in ancient times as an emblem of royalty and an amulet for the protection of the deceased, the Eye of Horus was a symbol of indestructibility that promotes rebirth.
