Just back from Baltimore, and everything was amazing.
It is truly a dream to build ICON 13 with an incredibly talented, wildly kind, and deeply troubled team.
There’s something magical brewing. I hope we can pull it off.

Last year, a few very smart people made a very weird choice and put me on the board of ICON 12. Looking back, it all feels like a dream.
Have you ever seen Howard the Duck? No? It was a lot like that.
Truly, it was an honor to work alongside an amazing team of weirdos.
Since then, I’ve been asked to step up in a bigger way as Co-Director along side Lily Smith-Kirkley and Mark Heflin, which means I now have the power to make the same number of mistakes—but in a more official way.
Jokes aside, I am beyond honored, extremely excited, and maybe a little concussed. ICON is something special, and I’m incredibly lucky to be part of it. #illustration #icon12

Well that was 2024 everyone (mostly). And what a year! If 2024 was a person you wouldn’t like them. I don’t know, maybe you would, that’s your business. What is more important is I wouldn’t. Do with that what you will. You sick pervert.
It wasn’t all bad though! This was a year where I got to do and be part of a lot of big things. I traveled for work 3 times! There is nothing like being abroad and still having to answer your email while eating spaghetti. Also someone made a mistake and I got to serve on the ICON 12 board with some of the greatest people I’ve ever met. There was a week I had pizza three times in a row. And I saw someone I recognized from high school and I didn’t say hello. We are different people now and it would have been too much work to force a conversation. It’s not like I don’t like them, it’s more I have no feelings towards them at all. It was probably for the best as we weren’t really friends to begin with. Was this an accomplishment? Probably not but I still wrote it and you still read it. That must mean something.
As we head into 2025, I’m carrying some of those victories with me. Plus, I’ve got some announcements coming that I think you’ll like. When I say “You” I mean you specifically. Also if you already know keep it to yourself. This isn’t the time or the place to spoil any surprises. You always do that.
So, here’s to another year of fumbling through space pretending to know what I’m doing.
Also before you hear this joke a million times. The 2000’s is now 25 years old which means it’s now too old for Leonardo DiCaprio to date.
