Our first time at Seatrade and for @bor_productions … A brilliant week of meetings, new connections, and catching up with familiar faces. It was also great to see so many people I’ve known over the years doing so well and progressing within the industry. One of the best parts was finally putting faces to names. Those connections really do feel different once you meet in person. The Guest Entertainer showcase was a great addition too... bringing together cruise line entertainment teams and those involved in onboard entertainment in one place. And of course, a very fun Porthole Party to top it all off. Big thank you to everyone who made it such a warm and welcoming week. For the launch of MSC Euribia in 2023, we are proud to have collaborated with the @mscentertains team to create and deliver a distinctive new entertainment programme for one of @msccruisesofficial ’s most exciting ships - comprising five original production shows and a dynamic variety show. ✨ Circus 1920 🎸 Generation Rock 🎮 Illuminicity 🎙️ Jukebox Live 🎶 Song Book - Ed Sheeran 🌍 Live from Euribia - Variety Show Led creatively by father-and-son team @stevebor_ and @stevenborcreative , each production was developed with its own unique identity, bringing together exceptional singers, dancers, circus artists, technicians and creatives to deliver world-class live entertainment at sea. Alongside the theatre programme, we also collaborated with MSC Cruises on additional creative flourishes for the Carousel Big Band shows, further shaping the onboard entertainment experience.

Just back from two packed, expensive and inspiring days at the Edinburgh Fringe seeing 8 shows in two days! Highlights included The Genesis- a phenomenal piece of contemporary circus that left me in awe, Bernie Dieter’s Club Kabarett with its incredible live band and standout host, and the high-energy hip hop spectacle 360 All Stars, which proved a hit with all ages. I also loved Paldem, a new play about Onlyfans, and She’s Behind You, directed by one of my favourite directors, John Tiffany of Harry Potter fame about the significance of Panto. Other gems included Hamlet Circus by the New York Circus Project, Black Blues Brothers, and Nose Dive Assembly. What made it even more special was experiencing it all with the family this time. The city’s buzz, the variety of shows- particularly the rising popularity of circus and that unbeatable festival energy made me leave feeling creatively recharged… and with a strong itch to bring something of my own to the Fringe next year 🤔 #EdFringe #LivePerformance #CreativeDirector #Theatre #Circus #Inspiration

🎪✨Finally getting around to posting some photos from an unforgettable few weeks as Associate Director on @officialgiffordscircus 25th anniversary show: Laguna Bay... a sun-soaked, retro Americana dream with comedy at its heart and circus in its soul. From early morning rehearsals, new lessons, and lots of laughter (with @calmccrystal at the helm) to late-night parties and life on a stunning farm in Stroud, in the heart of the Cotswolds, this has been a truly handmade, organic, and theatrical experience. I’ll admit, being an Associate Director was a challenge at first, a new kind of role for me, but by the end I found my groove and I’m leaving with a whole new set of skills I’ll carry into everything I do next. Working with Cal has been a masterclass in comedy and theatrical circus direction. I’ve learned so much about letting ideas breathe, building trust with performers, and creating magic with kindness and collaboration at the centre. He really took me under his wing something I’ll always be grateful for. So many others to mention too from the creative team and production management and even catering! MSC Fantasia has definitely had a glow-up! ✨ We spent an intense but rewarding period onboard updating the shows during the cast change—new lights, sharper sound, fresh costumes, and even an extra singer & dancer on stage. Blinding Lights especially got a serious glow-up, and we couldn’t be prouder of how everything came together. The cast and creative team blew us away—not just with their talent, but with their energy and passion. Night after night, we pushed forward, and now the shows are tighter, brighter, and more stunning than ever. Huge respect and love to this team. Proud of the work. Surprisingly… January has been epic! The theme has definitely been networking. From catching up with friends old and new to seeing incredible shows and sharing ideas with brilliant minds, January has been unforgettable. I’ve been inspired by: 🎪 @circuscortexuk at Sandown Racecourse 🎤 @mjthemusicaluk in the West End ✨ @crossroadspantomimes Peter Pan panto at Birmingham Hippodrome 🎭 Corteo by @cirquedusoleil at Royal Albert Hall 💃 Gatsby at @thelondoncabaretclub 🌟 And the gala night at @festivalducirquedemontecarlo with the wonderful team from Giffords Circus. I’m excited to share that while I continue as Creative Director/Producer at @bor_productions , I’ll also be working with @officialgiffordscircus this year as Associate Director, assisting the incredible Cal McCrystal—a director I’ve admired for years from his work at Giffords @spiegelworld @cirquedusoleil and many others. I’m beyond excited to contribute and learn from such a legend in the industry and the whole Giffords team. 2024: A year of creativity, growth, and lessons learned.
