Had an absolute blast riding Whistler bike park the past two days. I haven’t been able to ride much the past few years and was struggling to get back up to speed and hit bigger jumps. I spent a fair bit of my time riding A-Line and Dirt Merchant and feel really comfortable hitting bigger jumps fast. The Forbidden Dreadnaught is such a fun bike. It’s stable at high speed and jumps really well too.
Whistler randoms. Bear shit. A bear on the trail when I rounded the corner (not sure who scampered away fastest). And short lift lines. Only bummer, it’s raining. But that’s par for the course in these parts the last month I’m told.
What a great first day. Good weather, kids that were in good spirits and a stop at the Corn Palace in South Dakota. What a wild spot. It would make a cool little short doc to see the yearly transition this building goes through. On to Badlands tomorrow.
Was passing through Austin this past week headed toward San Antonio to work on our Buck Fever film and called my long lost brother Joe out of the blue to see how he was… Found out I was 10 minutes away from him so I slid by to catch up much too quickly! Miss ya bud but it was great seeing you!
Got to spend a day with Horns High Mountain Biking (aka Shawn Spry) riding Capt. Ahab in Moab. What a great day of fun riding and catching g up with an old friend. Ahab is super fun and Moab in general is incredible. From biking to hiking it is a have-to-see place if you can make it in your lifetime. Glad Sarah talked us into going as it was a really fun trip. More family photos to come once were back home.
Super close to finished (for now) on this film. I’ve cut on this for months and still like listening to it as I work to clean it up, so I think it’s a decent film. I’m proud of what Kevin and I have created. Looking forward to seeing where this lands.
New rear tire on the Evil. I had run Cushcore in the wheel for the past few years without any tire issues. I took it out a month ago and within two rides I ruined a tire. So cushcore goes back in. It is a better ride even with the weight penalty in my opinion.
Getting closer to finishing this edit. We’ve been at it for a fair bit now but the sequence is getting cleaned up and looking better. By next week I bet we’ll lock the layers and I’ll get back to filming on Buck Fever. I’m looking forward to that.
The interview shown in the window was one of the first interviews shot with my #sonyfx9. Loving this camera and the image it creates. Lots to learn about the camera, coming from Canon, but happy with it despite its few issues.
