Can’t believe Jack Douglas has left us 💔 Jack produced many albums in my record collection (some of my all time favorites!) - and that includes 2 that I was fortunate to have worked with him on; the New York Dolls comeback album in 2006 & the 1st Michael Monroe band album in 2010.
Some of the albums he produced shaped my musical world and moved me to play, write & sing - Get Your Wings, Toys In The Attic, Rocks, the Cheap Trick debut and of course Lennon’s Double Fantasy.
I’ll never forget those nights in LA during the Monroe recording, sitting out on the porch with him after the sessions, smoking cigars and listening to him tell John & Yoko stories…and I loved the way he wanted to record me for the Dolls - totally LIVE - in one take! (I still use his amp mic’ing technique to this day…)
He was a beautiful guy with a super talented musical mind and will be sorely missed in this world. I’ll never forget you Jack. Rest in Peace my friend.
