First time out on the bike for a while. Maybe the second time this year? It’s a bit different these days. No power metre, no heart rate monitor, no Lycra (everyone is pleased about that!), no stats, no efforts.
Just riding for the feeling of wind on your face and enjoying the sunshine. Didn’t ride far, didn’t even ride fast, but it was nice to be out.
Do you miss it? The most common question in the last few months.
Nah, not the training and racing. I miss being around the team, the laughs, that feeling of everyone grafting for a common purpose. The accountability. But I’ve not once thought, ‘did I make the wrong choice?’
I had my time, I loved it, but now it’s time to move on to something new or old…….rock climbing you say……🤔
PS: still a current World Champion 😂
