Meet the Crew: Gareth Lewis, 1st Assistant Director @gjlewis10 From the first call to the final wrap @gjlewis10 made sure that the atmosphere on set was calm, that the shots ran smoothly and that every member of our dedicated team knew their mark and purpose. Gareth works as an Assistant Director across film and TV, on both large-scale studio productions and independent features. His credits include the final four Harry Potter films and Creation Stories. Gareth utilised his cracking sense of humour to comfortably give direction, set a steady pace, and ensure there was no chaos - none of which were easy feats in a busy location with countless challenges and limitations. The camaraderie he fostered made the set a real working family for our short shoot. Director @stephzari has worked with Gareth previously and was delighted for him to be her right hand on this. Gareth was a completely invaluable cog in the AMUSEMENT machine. Gareth says: “Amusement’s main draw was working with Stephanie. She is such a visionary and unique talent that it was interesting to see first hand how she would deal with such a small and intimate story set in the one location.” We’re incredibly grateful for Gareth’s support and direction, and the calm precision he brought to our story. 🎬 We’re currently fundraising for post-production. Meet the crew: Production Manager – Anna Chernova @annahurma Every shoot needs someone who quietly keeps the details from slipping through the cracks. On Amusement, Anna was the person keeping the wheels turning and the right info landing with the right people, without the group chat turning into a thriller. With a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Anna’s background spans TV and print, with years of on-location work, research, and contributor care. That same instinct for structure and deadlines, plus a sharp eye for detail, is exactly what makes her such a strong fit for production life. Anna is now actively developing in film, investing in training and learning fast as she builds her path in production and the AD department. Thank the Maker! We were delighted that local artist/maker @simonlambert_artist was able to answer our call and lend his many creative skills to create the amazing bespoke props for @amusement.film . Simon managed to find time in a busy schedule, often in the early hours and weekends, to turn his hand to graphic design, card craft, surface effects, electronics and studio photography, furnishing the film with some magical moments that we know you’ll enjoy. He even wrangled his 45-year old campervan on location to provide the perfect vehicle for our forthcoming cinematic smash! “It’s been such a pleasure working with Steph and the Amusement team and I’ve really enjoyed all the different creative challenges that have been thrown at me. Sadly I can’t show you any of these creations in full yet; no spoilers here. Meet the crew: Composer and Supporting Artist: John Fortis - ​​@johnfortisldn London-based writer and producer John Fortis has a reputation as one of the best in the music industry for discovering and developing the hottest emerging artists in the UK. He has produced and co-written songs with artists including Ellie Goulding, The Prodigy and Razorlight. The team at AMUSEMENT were thrilled to have him on board to craft an electrifying original score for the film! We were also delighted to have John appearing as a background artist on the shoot.
