For day one of Me Made May, I made the @retla_patterns Brie Occasion Bag in this dead stock polka dot crinkle cotton from @blackbirdfabrics — matching dress incoming! This pattern is very simple to follow but whyyyyyyyy could I not understand the drawstring instructions? I used a corded ribbon but cannot figure out how to make the bag adjust closed sooooo it might just end up being handles 🤷♀️

I still need to pull out a few basting stitches. Don’t expect me to make a new project every day but this was a good stand in for not being able to wear anything I made!

Wore this gorgeous dress from @retrouvevintage to see the world premiere of @avery_r_young ‘s SAFRONIA at @lyricopera tonight and was blown away by it all — the music, the story, the energy in the room. I feel so lucky to have seen almost every production at Lyric Opera this season.

If you are in London you must visit @retrouvevintage — a tiny treasure trove of some of the most gorgeous gowns imaginable. The shop owner even works with a tailor for quick turnarounds that fit you perfectly. I love this dress I took home with me!

Went to a #heatedrivalry themed dance party at @chopshopchi last night and decided I needed the most obscure outfit, so I thrifted this dress, borrowed these boots, built this logo out of cardboard, and sewed this sailor hat with @riflepaperco fabric from @tailorbird_fabrics

@matchymatchysewingclub gifted me this tomato and brown quilted puffer nylon as part of their ambassador program and I made the @vikisews.patterns #cheryljacket . The fabric is reversible so you get more bang for your buck with TWO JACKETS! I ended up liking the brown more than I thought.

I made a size M with no mods, but I did French seams to make it reversible. Ack! Really put my machine through the wringer with such thick fabric but it looks great. Next time I will actually lay the pattern in the right direction so the quilting isn’t so wonky, but the jacket is lightweight and warm. Hooray!
