Sometimes being in the public eye takes a toll on me. Don't get me wrong, I've learned, over time, to not let people's opinions of who I should be, or how I should carry myself, take a lot of space in my mind. But even that little space it does take up eventually does weigh heavy, especially when the burdens I'm already carrying are heavy enough as they are. And so I distance myself from everything and everyone until I have the mental fortitude to let myself be seen again; that's just the way I cope.
