February days.
All major highways closed.
Most Sierra resorts closed.
Snow levels closing in on the valley floor.
Somewhat fortuitously I found myself winding up hwy 108 heading to @dodgeridge
From sunrise to sunset this day felt a bit more dream than waking life. Old friends found from decades past. New friends made. A genuinely energetic local scene so stoked to be doing it in the communal way. All tucked away in the heart of the central Sierra.
I’m rarely if ever the person having those right place / right time experiences these days. But I have had a couple this winter. The hook is set.

20 years ago we were lucky enough to work with the creative genius @pierreminhondo on NeoProtos “Everyday Something”
These projects were fueled by soul, good times and not much budget.
We were young, hungry and ready to snowboard on anything and everything. Pierres films changed perspective on how snowboard movies were made and perceived in the snowboard community. They give you a euphoria of feelings and brought a certain joy to the viewers that is hard to replicate. We were in the right place at the right time and I am grateful to have been a part of them with you and the whole crew @stephenduke

Shfack-A-Palloza, a gathering for one of the oldest people we know who just turned an amazing SIXTY years old. This man has been alive so long that he’s seen the inventions of the I Phone, E-bike, snowboard, Hot Pocket, jean shorts and Do Rag. I hung out with mom yesterday and she gifted me a bunch of things I left her to care take a long time ago. In the spirit of Olympic big air events, here is a trophy from the only big air contest I think I ever entered. And all I had to do was a 900 to earn it (Rippey beat me. It was an honor).
