I’m back home, off the road for a bit, with no dates on the calendar for the time being. Also recovering from an (undersold, per usual) surgery, so laying low this weekend, watching movies, as well as perusing YouTube. If you’re also laying low this weekend, I thought I’d send some recommendations from Ol’ SK’s YouTube Channel youtube.com/stephen_kellogg
1. In case you missed it: I did an All Request Livestream last week with a question and answer session. We received more than 250 questions and I had a great time performing for everyone.
Didn’t make it? No problem, it’s still up for you to watch whenever you’d like. Drop your questions in the comments and I’ll answer those next time!
2. Want to see a Sixers show? We released the whole show from Park West in Chicago in Fall of 2012 during the Hi-Ate-Us Tour. A setlist of more than 20 songs and the joy of a moment in time well captured.
3. My longtime pal, Peter Harding, made a mini-documentary around the making of my 2016 album, “South West North East” called “Last Man Standing.” It was previously only available to watch on Amazon, but now you can check it out on YouTube.
4. Finally, back in 2021, mid-pandemic, when we did 50+ livestream shows, I got to virtually interview my friend, Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz. This interview, along with interviews with hit songwriter Lori McKenna, Man vs Food host Casey Webb, Chris Culos of OAR and more are also up on the channel to watch!
All right, back to my own YouTube deep dive in between movies. Hope you enjoy, my friends. Take care, and have a great Sunday!
SK answered your questions at last week’s All Request Livestream. You had super thoughtful questions that he answered in between songs. Head over to youtube.com/stephen_kellogg to hear his answers and your favorite songs!
To my mom, my stepmother, mother of my children and mother-in-law out there in the great beyond: 𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙠 𝙮𝙤𝙪. For raising me up and bringing such a rich tapestry of approaches to motherhood into my life. I carry your lessons and love with me everywhere I go.
To all the selfless mom’s, would-be mom’s, girl dad’s and women embodying the spirit of motherhood - a salute to you as well.
Now that I’ve said this on the internet, it’s real. 😉
#TBT to last nights All Request Livestream over on YouTube. A fun evening with more than 350 households tuned in to hear their requests along with SK answering a range of questions (Favorite moment at UMass? → Advice for a 25 year old?)
It’s up at youtube.com/stephen_kellogg for you to check out!
Last night was the conclusion of the Old Friends Tour dates. Mary Gauthier and I rolled deep and I got to finish the concept tour with a real master of the craft. A kindred soul. We opened the concerts with a duet of the great John Prine’s “Speed of the Sound of Loneliness” and went on from there. Great shows.
This tour lasted for a year and found me swapping songs with some of my best pals and greatest songwriters I know. It was challenging to pull off, but very rewarding. Thanks to Mary, Drew Holcomb, Marc Roberge, Will Hoge, Chris Barron, Rachel Beauregard, Heather Morgan, David Ryan Harris, The Kellogg Sisters, Pat McGee, Adam Gardner, Jon McLaughlin, Pete Muller, Javier Colon, Chris Trapper, The Moonrise Cartel, Lee Totten, Trae Sheehan, Melissa Ferrick, Tyrone Wells, Isaac Hanson and the Alternate Routes for saying “yes” when I called them with this idea.
Tonight I will celebrate on stage with two sold out shows in Lake Orion, MI (plus special guest Trae Sheehan). Wednesday I will do an all request free livestream at 7:30 EST on my YouTube Channel. Then on Thursday we will head to Richmond, VA for what is essentially an end tour party at Richmond Music Hall. Tickets and VIP for that are available at stephenkellogg.com

“… the impact that your art and music has had on me, and millions of others. You changed my life and the way I write songs.” #TBT to SK’s interview with @countingcrows during the pandemic virtual shows

On this Earth Day 2026, I give you Bob Dylan, thoughts on the goon squad and the hope that the astronauts brought back from the abyss.
“Planet Earth, you are a crew.” These were the words of Christina Koch upon returning to the atmosphere from the Artemis II mission. The capsule delivering them safe passage bearing the appropriate name, “Integrity.” The four brave space travelers then went on to describe our planet as a fragile “lifeboat” floating in the cosmos, surrounded by a “whole bunch of nothing.” Each of them stressing the urgent need to protect our planet as a “unified, borderless humanity.” Their message, crystal clear. It is our responsibility and should be our top priority to care for this shared home. We do not have a backup plan.
Meanwhile, here in the land of nonsense, the world remains mired in conflict and held captive by the whims of several low-vibe leaders whose power is seemingly unchecked. No, not all politicians are the same. And this isn’t politics. This is chaos. If we’re to be a crew, give us leadership that unifies, rather than divides. Give us peacemakers rather than masters of war. Give us that Artemis II spirit, and the will to care about planet Earth. 🌎
