#UofT student Stephen Gogolev âžïž had a solid excuse for missing his midterms: there were no makeups for the Olympics.
As Canadaâs lone representative in menâs singles at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, Gogolev reached an elite athletic milestone & capped a comeback from back problems that nearly derailed his skating career.
After winning national championships & securing an Olympic berth, the St. Michaelâs College student set his sights on gold at Milano Cortina, joining several members of the U of T community competing in Italy.
