There is a clear difference between working for salvation and working out salvation.
Ephesians 2:8–9 tells us that we are saved by grace through faith, not by works. Salvation is not a reward for effort; it is a gift received through Christ. You cannot earn what was already finished, and you cannot improve on what Jesus declared complete.
However, Philippians 2:12–13 instructs us to work out our salvation with reverence, immediately reminding us that it is God who works in us to will and to act according to His good pleasure.
That distinction matters. We do not strive to secure acceptance; we live from acceptance. Working for salvation is an attempt to achieve righteousness. Working out salvation is the visible expression of a righteousness already given.
Grace saves you, and that same grace empowers your growth.
