A lot has happened in the 4+ years since I’ve posted on this account:
I met the love of my life 🫶🏼
I stepped away from personal training, however I’m fortunate my photography business grew instead.
I made new friends, reconnected with friends, and held on tightly to the old ones.
I left a job I loved to open the door for a new path that has been more rewarding.
I got sick and diagnosed with an autoimmune condition.
I had to step away from my routine to manage my health first, “sacrificing” my progress to make sure I was being treated.
I eventually found my spark for the gym again.
I spent time with my loved ones and watched my nephews grow.
I traveled as much as I could.
I got engaged ♥️
Amidst all of the busyness, I still made sure to take time to enjoy life. Although there’s been some struggles, I’m grateful for each moment and the gift of movement.

I almost forgot but this week is my “gymaversary”! 3 years ago this week, I decided to rededicate myself to the gym for good, no excuses, no more complaints.
It’s been the most rewarding journey even if the progress hasn’t been linear (plus some injuries along the way). This journey isn’t just about being consistent at the gym or breaking PR’s but learning how to love myself and grow confidence. Remember to choose yourself each day, listen to your body, and always do this for you!

Last Monday, I went to the doctors and for the first time in a while I stepped on the scale. At first I was a little shocked to see the number: 175. In all honesty, that’s how much I weighed when I first started my journey a few years ago. Which is just a reminder the scale IS JUST A NUMBER.
That number doesn’t define me, I’m the strongest I’ve been in a long time. I’m the most powerful I’ve been. It’s the most confident I’ve felt in my body too and that’s what matters at the end of the day. Forget the scale and measurements, track your progress based on how you feel.
So here I am at the squat rack rocking my sports bra and leggings because I can 🥰.

Little bit from yesterday’s upper body session.
Don’t be afraid of failure, if you know you’re capable of it push for those extra reps. Aim higher, because you’re so much stronger than you think. It’s through our failures that we grow, we learn, and become stronger.
I was struggling on this last set, attempting to do 10 full reps and felt my body fail before I got there (you can see the disappointment lol). Which was okay! I know I’ll be capable of it next time.

Happy Sunday y’all! This week I’ve been reflecting a lot on the physical and mental changes I’ve experienced since starting this journey.
I know a lot of pages encourage us to love ourselves as we are, and yes! We 1000% should, but I know there are days that are tough to truly love ourselves when society is built to tear us down. I’m here to remind you, YOU ARE ENOUGH, you are worthy of self-love, even if you may not feel like it. It’s a learning process. Whichever route you decide to take to go on that self-love journey do it (as long as it’s healthy and sustainable of course), meditate, journal what you’re grateful for, journal about your strengths, the little wins.

These pictures are all different stages. I realized I don’t take progress pictures but it’s amazing to see the subtle changes, and trust me the mental changes are the best part of this journey.

I remember feeling so crappy with myself end of 2017 and part of 2018, there was nothing wrong with me or how I looked but I wasn’t happy. I wasn’t taking care of myself the way I knew I could. Part of it was lifestyle, spending more time working and commuting than being at home. Versus now, I’ve grown to appreciate myself more, see myself get stronger, and overall become happier and more confident. 🥰

I’ve been adjusting to a new schedule these past weeks so I’m reminding myself not to feel bad whenever I can’t make it to the gym. When you’re tired or busy, it’s okay, it’s not the end of the world, the progress won’t disappear overnight.
Try to celebrate the small wins and moments. October was an emotional rollercoaster but a lot of great things happened too! This week, I dressed up, put on some makeup and had a lovely dinner with my crew to celebrate all the good happening for us 🥰.
