The most rewarding, fun, some times challenging, life changing in the best way, part of my life.
I was at one of Ernie’s baseball games the other day and thought… this is more stressful watching him steal bases than a cooking competition. Just because I want him smiling and happy as often as possible. And I want to help make the best choices for him in life.
It’s a lot. But as with everything, as a mom, just try my best every day 😊
And the reward? A great kid that makes me smile and hopefully grows in to a kind and happy man.

Morning at the hotel gym

On the road all but I think 7 of those days🙃
Last few days I started questioning if I should skip it this time around. Feeling like I’m in less condition to compete than I was before the last race in February.
But then I reminded myself that giving up will feel way worse than going and just finishing. I don’t need to be faster or stronger this time around. I just need to show up.
So whether it’s pushing myself at a hotel gym or finding time for f45 or just going for a run outside…. Gonna keep on keeping on 💪
Plus my cheerleader Ernie is pumped to get to NYC for his first time! Seems a great way to kick off his summer☀️🌇

Tiny Goat Chicago last night with all star Goat team all in the kitchen together. 🥳 Love when my chefs from around the land all get to hang together and just do some cooking.
Fun menu that was all about ramps! Always love having another outlet to try new dishes or bring back old favs.
Ramp pancakes (like Ernie’s fav scallion pancakes from @duckduckgoatchi ) with fennel salad with shrimp and ramp goddess.
Duck tartare with ramp greens and popiah
Ramp marinated halibut with cashew butter + cashew salsa macha + asparagus
Lamb shoulder ribbon skewers with mole and grilled pickled ramp-rhubarb relish

I do have quite the sweet tooth, though always trying to make desserts that are sweet enough to satisfy but still balanced with acid and savory notes.
Blackberry-basil sorbet and macerated blackberries bringing the acid on top of my favorite cakes...
It’s like butter cake and cheesecake had a baby. Then a little basil whip to finish it off.
Spring in a dessert for sure.... 🫐 🍓 why is there no blackberry emoji 🙃
