Last week, in my capacity as Special Adviser (Public Affairs & Policy) to my Principal, Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, Ph.D., CFR, I had a distinct privilege to facilitate a transformative 3-day legislative internship between the Office of the Deputy Speaker, and HerCademy; a Legislative Mentorship Program for Aspiring Female Parliamentarians by TOS Foundation Africa.
In alignment with His Excellency’s unwavering commitment to women’s empowerment, inclusion, and leadership development, our office hosted 15 exceptionally driven, diverse, and purpose filled ladies, each bringing unique perspectives, aspirations, and stories.
Throughout the program, I intentionally curated immersive engagements across the office to ensure these remarkable ladies gained practical exposure, and strategic insights. From firsthand participation in plenary proceedings presided over by His Excellency, to a visit to the National Assembly Library Trust Fund, they were given rare access to the inner workings of governance, policy, and legislative leadership.
Here’s to my Principal, whose visionary leadership continues to create meaningful platforms for women to rise, lead, and thrive. Here’s to our exceptional Chief of Staff, Barr. Sam Hart, mni, whose wisdom, mentorship, and generosity, especially during our impactful luncheon session left lasting lessons on leadership and service. I say thank you 🙏🏻
