Finally managed to capture a sunrise at the Rockabill Lighthouse this morning, and what a stunning sunrise this morning, great to see so many others with me doing the same #raw_ireland #pictureoftheday #picoftheday #rockabilllighthouse #ireland_gram
A perfect alignment of the Dublin Airport ATC tower inside the setting sun this evening as seen from Burrow Beach, a far better photo in my opinion compared to yesterday, makes a huge difference with no clouds on the horizon raw_ireland #photooftheday #picoftheday #sunsetalignment #burrowbeach #irelandphotography
This evening's sunset viewed from Burrow Beach as the sun sets behind the Dublin Airport ATC tower, and Emirates also made a guest appearance inside the sun. #irelandphotography #ireland_gram #burrowbeach #pictureoftheday #photooftheday
One I forgot to post, the full moon rising behind the Baily Lighthouse back in March #baileylighthouse #irelandphotography #rawdublin #ireland_gram #lovindublin
The sun, captured through my camera using a special solar filter ☀️
I’ve been practicing solar photography lately as I get ready for the total solar eclipse in Spain this August — something I absolutely plan to see in person. This was one of my recent practice shots, and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out, so I thought I’d share it here.
(And just a reminder — definitely don’t look directly at the sun without proper protection!)

Finally got my first ever photo of Haulbowline Lighthouse in Carlingford Lough this morning, and to have my first photo of this lighthouse be a stunning sunrise this morning was the cherry on top. This was viewed from the beach in Greenore, Co Louth. Absolutely beautiful part of the country and my first time ever visiting. #haulbowlinelighthouse #carlingfordlough #sunrise #photopills #irelandgram
The end of an era.
Aer Lingus has sent its final aircraft in the iconic all-green livery to France for repainting. With that, a design that first took to the skies in 1980, and evolved into the 1996 scheme so many of us grew up with, has officially passed into history.
The last aircraft to wear it was EI-EAV, a 17-year-old Airbus A330. Seeing it go feels like saying goodbye to more than just a paint scheme. It feels like saying goodbye to my childhood, and to a design that perfectly represented Irish identity.
For decades, that deep green represented Ireland around the world. It stood out instantly in foreign airports, unmistakable among endless rows of white aircraft. It was like seeing a piece of home when abroad. Not that long ago, Dublin Airport was a sea of green. You always knew when you were home.
Now, that character has been replaced with a mostly white design that, to me, just doesn’t capture Ireland’s identity in the same way. The green wasn’t just branding. It was identity.
I’ve grown up with that design. When I picture Aer Lingus, I still see that solid green. It’s hard to imagine Dublin Airport without it.
I’m just grateful I took plenty of photos when I had the chance.
Farewell to the Aer Lingus all-green era.
1980 – 1996 – 2026. 💚✈️
