Two weeks ago, alumnus @sten.ceulemans joined our Master students in Photography for an inspiring workshop. As part of a collaborative project with the Royal Museums of Art & History (Brussels) and Ghent University, our students worked with the largely forgotten photographic archive of Adrien Van der Burch (1877–1954). The archive became a starting point for new artistic responses—resulting in a small showcase of works that reflect, reinterpret, and question the material. Students of Art History at UGent joined the process, opening up critical conversations around archives, authorship, and historical context. The project continues in May with an exhibition at VANDENHOVE, Ghent. ✨ Stay tuned. Initiated by @liesbethdecan and #MarieAuger #LUCASchoolofArts #WeArt

One month left to visit Thresholds, Doors, Portals… at Cloud Seven curated by Ariane Sutthavong. “If the museum typically operates as a site of legibility -where objects are categorised, histories ordered, and meanings assigned -Sten Ceulemans’s series of photographs From the cellar to the sun opens up a provisional space. Architectural elements are subtly warped, vitrines emptied, and frames rendered void through analog interventions. As a fragmentary counter-archive, these images act as speculative blueprints … for an institution imagined otherwise.” - Ariane Sutthavong The exhibition remains open until July 5th, and visiting hours are from Thursday to Friday, 14:00 - 18:00. Cloud Seven, Quai du Commerce 7, 1000 Brussels

De Zaak van Gangen (2024) Artists: Céleste Buyle, Sten Ceulemans, Leo Goiris, Titus Tips, Quinten Vermeulen & Juliette Willems. It was a pleasure to showcase our individual works in this overarching balanced exhibition. Selecting, constructing and placing together into a cohesive ensemble was an important aspect of this project. We thank you all for the interest, conversations, critiques and ideas.
