Stems Brooklyn (@stemsbrooklyn ) started as a passion project in 2013 and never stopped growing. 🌸 Founded by Suzanna Cameron, this woman-owned floral studio has become one of Brooklyn’s most beloved businesses, offering daily flower deliveries, curated arrangements, and full-service event and wedding design across New York City. 🌹 Suzanna remains hands-on as head designer and creative director, all while navigating life as a single mother and community organizer. Floristry as a craft exists in this unique intersection of art, culture, and technique. We have to evolve with the trends, nurture our creative vision, and continue to build our specialized portfolio of skills. This year I decided to invest in myself (and my business) by taking one of @passionflowersue ’s workshops. “Why are you here?” was the first question she asked us. “I need to quit being a brat and get on board with new styles and techniques”. Turns out that was only half of the truth! What I didn’t know was how much I also needed to be in community with my fellow florists. The space to practice my craft and develop my vision without the predetermined framework of designing for clients. Few instructors can truly bridge the gap between teaching hard skills and inspiring us to create art. Sue does just that. The workshop reminded me that as a designer, I’m always looking to nature to remind me how to work with flowers, and in a sense, how to work with myself. I want to exist freely in my body, changing with the seasons, and embracing ephemerality, the way flowers do. Thank you Sue. I know that creating a world where you share your craft from such a heart led space requires immense bravery. Being authentic in a world designed to restrict us is liberation at its finest. & that’s a wrap on Mother’s Day Week 2026 💐 We couldn’t be more grateful for our Stems community! Thank you for your orders, your visits, and your support. It’s been a busy few weeks leading up to this moment, and we feel so lucky to create and design something special for you all in our studio. Growing up, my Nana had azaleas growing in her front yard. I loved going to her house as a kid. She lived on the North Carolina coast, so we spent weekends visiting her. A necessary departure from the wooded area where I lived with my family. As kids we would muck around in the water out in the marsh, fish and ride in boats. We also watched a lot of TV, ate Little Debbies and built little wood projects in the basement. Azaleas are a big deal in North Carolina, there is even an Azalea festival every year. In 2023, I connected with a local farmer named Maddy @bloomcourtfarm after one of my staff members flagged this amazing new farm taking root. The following year we featured azaleas from this farm in our Mother’s Day offerings, and we are featuring them again this year. It’s funny, I didn’t think about azaleas much as a kid. They were just the shrubs growing outside Nana’s house. But Azalea has returned to my life. Inspiring some of the most creative designs we’ve ever made at Stems. I’m lucky to be thinking of Nana this Mother’s Day. She met my son when he was just a few months old, merely months before she passed away at the ripe old age of 94. Funny how nature comes back around to remind us of the ones we love. I hope these flowers bring so much joy, love and affection to the ones you love this Mother’s Day.

Happy Mothers Day to my momma! She’s a hard working, super creative, fabulous outfit wearing thrifter, a traveler and so much more. I feel lucky to have a mom that has grown with me through the years. We have both put in work to invest in our relationship which I know is about as perfect as one can hope for. Thank you for teaching me about the seasons, how to decorate a table with what you have in your front yard and that a thrifted outfit is the best one. Love you Mom! And thanks to @gracerosefarm for sending my mom the most beautiful garden roses for Mothers Day!
