our current exhibition "Epaves" by Jannick Deslauriers and Camille Charbonneau has been be extended until May 30th! Transposed lines of flight in a blurred and fragmentary vision, sketches of a disturbed journey.. A journey that recalls the colonisers’ crossing to the New World, carrying models and instruments of oppression along from Europe to the Americas. In the name of progress, they imposed coercive social structures, moral pressure and political domination, embodied by churches, hospitals, monuments, and even botanical glasshouses, as showcases of control of otherness, in both human and plant forms. Opening today @independent_hq Find us at booth #203 with a solo presentation by @michaelbuhlerrose "Bühler-Rose, who is presenting a solo booth with Stems Gallery of Brussels at Independent, came to the technique through a confluence of personal factors. The artist grew up in the punk scene before becoming a Hare Krishna monk and spending multiple years in India. During that time, he visited a carpenter in Mysore who was a disciple of one of his Sanskrit and philosophy teachers. “When I came back to New York, I went to the Met and wandered into the Gubbio Studiolo,” he recalled, noting how the connection clicked, especially given his long-standing interest in art-historical tropes. Jannick Deslauriers & Camille Charbonneau walk us through their solo exhibition “Épaves”. "There’s an interest in our practices for the in-between, or things that are not fully defined, completely either in transparency or semantically. Something that we spoke very often about together is to create this feeling of absence, or like something that is not fully there, fully resolved. It really calls for the viewer’s imagination to kind of fill in what is not there." Film and edited by Armand Morin ( @showing_the_show ) @jannickdeslauriers @camillecharbonneau

Drawn from life, memory, and the history of painting, the everyday objects in Rouphail’s images intimately combine with one another through an atmospheric blend of sharp light and various visual layering devices. In his current body of work, the artist uses recurring subjects like flowers, pastries, books, and the American landscape as the compositional guidelines for his work, functioning as both framing devices and stand-ins for the figure. (Maud Salembier) "Epaves" Jannick Deslauriers & Camille Charbonneau on view until 16 May 2026 @jannickdeslauriers @camillecharbonneau @maud_salembier

Julien Boudet with Jägermeister for Ultrarace Germany in Düsseldorf "Horsepower" The sculpture reinterprets the traditional horse-drawn carriage by replacing horses with motorcycles and the carriage with a car, exploring modern ideas of power and movement. It contrasts motorcycles’ raw, individual speed with the car’s structure and collective identity, showing how these forces coexist and support each other. Ultimately, it reflects on the evolution from animal to mechanical horsepower, connecting past and present in our fascination with mobility and machines. @bleumode @rennmeister72 @ultrace_official
