Even when it feels like you’re in a small space, you’re surrounded by a far bigger community of potential clients and like-minded people than you realise. We rarely grasp the scale until we put ourselves out there. I spent the last year rebuilding my business after a deal collapsed and forced me back into a job.
I worked as a surveyor for two years, knocking on council-house doors, learning a skill I never expected to like.
I got good at it.

But I stayed at it.
