Kolejną propozycją z naszego pięknego, a jakże, kraju jest Stellar Blight! Powstały w 2024 roku z inicjatywy gitarzysty Sz. I. (Shodan), wokalisty S. (Mānbryne, Blaze of Perdition), a wkrótce potem uzupełniony przez perkusistę KwB (Owls Woods Graves), Stellar Blight szybko zaznaczył swoją obecność w metalowym podziemiu.
Debiutancki album „Eventide: Synod of the Dying Stars”, wydany przez Malignant Voices, to 40 min typowej skandynawskiej intensywności z heavy metalową podniosłością znanej z Dissection, Unanimated, Wayfarer czy Tribulation, którą Stellar Blight określa mianem death driven heavy metal.

🔥 CONCERT OF THE YEAR # 14/20 🔥
I like debut shows. I’ve seen a few of them and they are always accompanied by a certain amount of uncertainty. A couple of months ago, I flew to Kraków for 24h to see Stellar Blight for their first time on stage. Even though the musicians (known from bands like Mānbryne, Blaze of Perdition, Owls Woods Graves or Shodan) are not new to the stage, their new project certainly is and it was really exciting to see if I was going to like it as much as the album itself. Straight away, I was amazed at how easily the guys handled their new music on stage. Each song on their debut album, ‘’Eventide: Synod of the Dying Stars’’ brings a very memorable melody and those riffs were really coming to life in Kraków that night! I am very familiar with Sonneillon’s vocals from Blaze of Perdition, Mānbryne and Oremus but to hear him in this sort of heavy metal setting was bewildering but I think he handled the job more than well. And I only thought of Dissection a couple of times during the show! I really hope that they can take Stellar Blight further, play more shows and present their Death Driven Heavy Metal to the masses.

🔥 ALBUM OF THE YEAR # 21/25 🔥
When I first had a chance to listen a little sample of Stellar Blight, knowing who was behind this band and what was their main inspiration, I was immediately enthralled with the whole concept. Stellar Blight is a new creation from the musicians known from bands like Mānbryne, Blaze of Perdition, Owls Woods Graves or Shodan. They call their music Death Driven Heavy Metal and, after listening to their debut album, ‘’Eventide: Synod of the Dying Stars’’ even for a brief moment, it’s late Dissection that comes to mind immediately. The album, even though heavily rooted in the Swedish melodic death metal, provides you with a very fresh approach to the genre using musical nuances from the 90s and 80 but giving them a little bit of own touch. It’s insanely entertaining to listen to and each song proves the excellent musicianship of the people involved. ‘’Eventide…’’ was probably one of the greatest musical surprises this year and it was great to hear the very familiar musicians in another guise. I also had a chance to see the band’s first ever show in Kraków this year, but more on that in a separate post.
