I posted a quick photo of this the other week but only remembered how to use the scanner on my printer today so figured I'd get a better image of it and put it on the grid, cos why not.
I've been trying to get back to being creative recently to shut out the anxiety of life and cyanotypes is something I've been trying to get round to doing for about 15 years. I'm glad I finally got to it.
I primarily want to explore more experimental prints on fabric but this was on thin card to try out ideas. Text inspired by the upcoming @thexcerts album.
#cyanotype
Christmas trip to see Father Christmas's back-up reindeer. V cute. 10/10 recommended as a daytrip from Glasgow. 1/10 to being stuck on a hard shoulder by Cumbernauld for 2 hours en route there though.
I wasn't going to tonight's DPU gig until little over an hour before The Xcerts took to the stage. A nice little last minute gig definitely improved my week.
I clearly hadn't had time to remember how to human though so apologies to anyone I attempted to have a conversation with. I would say I'm not usually that awkward/weird, but that would be a lie :')
Staycations are a dream when the weather is this good!
2 very last minute daytrips this week; Glencoe on Wednesday which is just too stunning. Jury's out on if I saw eagles or not. Definitely saw some big mountains though (Buachaille Etive Mòr is still my fave, though not pictured here).
Daytrip to Troon today with @donkeyjacket45 who took photos which is nice as I so rarely have photos of me from my travels. Made me realise how bad my posture is though :') Could see Arran from the beach, I should go back there for a daytrip before the summer's out.
Non-bands photos of my favourite place on earth. Photos of no importance to anyone else, but a reminder of my favourite weekend of the year.
The hottest, dustiest, most wonderful time.
14 years down, tickets for my 15th Trees purchased.
I dont recall when I was last barrier at a Biffy gig but it was long ago enough that Richard and @mikevennart 's role that evening was handing out gig listings leaflets.
The walk to SWG3 feels a bit like those long walks to Manchester Academy, but would walk either trek again for a band that have soundtracked such a massive chunk of my adult life.
Fun way to kick off the last year of my thirties too.
My fave coffee shop's ever changing stickers reminds me of being a kid and getting stickers from the dentist (why dont adults get those?!) This one pulled me out of a mood this morning (the sunshine and coffee also helped).
Finally put up a couple of fun tea towels i bought last year, @twinatlantic meltdown tour and one i picked up at a vegan festival round the corner from the flat.
Yes my kitchen is various shades of beige, yes i do want to change it. Also the towels are not hung squint the tenement is 120+ years old and is squint.
I know i've posted no photos but this is actually my 3rd @thexcerts gig in the past week, which Im sure will surprise absolutely no one.
There was a brief moment late last night where I thought I wasnt going to be able to get to tonight's show (prob the first time i've simply forgot to book transport for a trip) but I made it. Saw some good humans at the gig and just had a lovely wee time.
Gigs are good. Travelling for gigs is good. Travelling for Xcerts gigs is a 10/10 hobby. There Is Only You is a great album to hear played in full.
We didnt get "lunch" until almost 4pm and I burnt my thumb and was was far too close to snapping my toe in half at one point, cooking the food in the countertop oven was like a game of Twister (hence the thumb incident) and I almost had a meltdown. The flat is chaos but I shoved everything into my room so I can't get into bed right now but I can take a photo that briefly looks like I have my shit together this Christmas day.
I dont have my shit together today, or any day of the year for that matter.
So aye, I reckon Christmas Day 2024 was a success... pass the prosecco!
