Spring Concert: Ich liebe das Leben 🌞 # 2 This concert meant a lot to me since it had a lot of firsts. Singing with my (baby) sisters for our eldest sister‘s birthday - it makes me so proud and thankful to have these queens as life partners 🩷 „Ich liebe das Leben“ by Vicky Leandros was the inspiration for this specific programme and it found its way to me as „a cute breakup-song“ - thank you @kurshery 🩷 It ended up being the first song in German in our repertoire and it was a wild experience: Singing a song on stage in the language that is closest to me. This concert was also my first time singing in Arabic, slowly getting to all the love and life languages of my dearest people. A few days ago I had the pleasure of meeting @chiarapancari & @matteokeffer and talk about @hobbylobby.official ⭐️ I am one of the many people who volunteer and share their hobby there. In my case: Once a week I facilitate a space for kids and teens where they can explore their voice and get to know more about it. During the interview we talked about how singing can be beneficial for kids and why I volunteer in this context. For me, singing (and music) has always been the most connective form of expression - connecting me to myself and to others. And while I don‘t believe that everyone has to sing, I strongly believe that everybody can and that when we do it can be truely enriching. Especially with kids and youth it‘s such a beautiful moment when they choose to trust me and the group enough to show themselves. And each one has their own timing and their own way of opening up - but either way: A voice is always connected to a body, a person and their stories. February / 20 Uhr Votiv Kino 🍿Double Feature with @austroschwarz + Q&A after the films 🍿 In collaboration with the cultural association AFRIEUROTEXT @buchhandlung_afrieurotext and the organization Black Voices @blackvoices.at , @votivkino_defrance will present four films in February as part of Black History Month. Each film highlights Black protagonists and histories in different ways, addressing themes of racism, colonialism, and the intersection of diverse experiences of discrimination. The events focus on the educational and socio-political work and civic engagement of AFRIEUROTEXT and Black Voices and will largely be accompanied by post-screening discussions. Part of the proceeds from ticket sales will go toward supporting the (women’s) vocational training school that AFRIEUROTEXT has been running in Yaoundé, the capital of Cameroon, since 2020.
